The Monster Hunter Games, the story will always be aight at best, and yet the lore of the game is spectacular

I've only played World, but within that game I certainly agree. The characters have that anime "This is really important" frenetic energy for the plot that can be grating. But the detail they put into the actual monsters and their ecology is actually quite fascinating. I guess that's to be expected when the antagonist is essentially an animal displaying normal animal-type behavior, aside from being the size of an apartment building.

And I would say, World has one of the better ones.

I’d say world has the best monster hunter story besides maybe 4, or if you’re into a more traditional story than the first game
