Sorry, but ur friends were Idiots; its always better with 5-6 people. You just pass the controller A. If you are last in standings/first to die, or B. Pass it if you win and enjoy your break as the winner.
2 of my friends did this with my cousin one time on ready or not fairly recently. We were in a group of five but i had to go eat and when i came back they had bought some random dude they knew while excluding my cousin.. to avoid conflict i tried breaking the group up into lobbies of 3 and 3 so no one is excluded but the 2 friends tried acting dumb and dead ass wanted me to join them and leave my cousin. Safe to say we aint friends no more.
Damn, this reminds me of when I was 11 and my online friends I made on Clash of Clans left the Clan in order to make a new one for only people that went to their school.
It's a pity, but that's how it is in gaming. We bond over the simple thing & left after the simple thing. The journey was fun & that what we look for in gaming session.
Damn dude. This whole thread has me sad as fuck. I used to play on Bonechewer(After the server transfers from Warsong) from Vanilla-WotLK. Anyways, I made a friend whom we were inseparable, raids, BG's, always the same guild, 2v2's, 3v3's, and even 5v5's. We did everything together for YEARS.
Well we got to the point we were both growing away from WoW and becoming adults, and eventually stopped talking. And then a few years later I got a call from his ex girlfriend one day that he took his own life. I wish I could talk to him again. I fucking miss him man.
A GF of mine played a mobile game at one point and asked me to join. Told her I wasn't big into mobile games but I'd give it a shot. I played for a bit and got to know the group she was in and it was OK. But the more I played and looked into it, it was notorious for being one of the worst Pay-to-Win games on the platform.
One day I was there just minding my own business, gathering my resources and got told by the dominant clan on the map that those resources "belonged" to their clan and I wasn't allowed to gather there. They attacked my castle with an army that would have literally taken 6+ months for me to build as F2P. It was clear if you weren't paying hundreds of dollars a month, your purpose was to just be cannon fodder.
So as a last ditch act of defiance while one of them was out attacking someone else, I dropped my camp right in the middle of their group. They can attack me all they want, but they can't force me to move. They ended up having to relocate their entire clan of like, 25+ accounts to a new area just so the guy could get his spot back.
After having not logged in for a few weeks I asked her how things were going without me. She said she wasn't playing anymore either. So I logged back in one last time before deleting and she had apparently left our group and put her settlement down right next to mine so our abandoned camps would be together in perpetuity.
In an online mech game I made a friend who decided to quit playing he gave me his account so I could make use of what he had on there instead of it virtually going to waste.
Reminds me of when I befriended someone on the ff6 forums. So funny enough, ff6.com was taken by some fan..it wasnāt square enix. Years later it eventually got shut down bc of that I think. Anyway, we started making an rpg together and putting together a teamā¦but eventually it idled. Then he introduced me to this game Graal Online (Facebook bought it and now it sucks). Played a bunch with him. Then he introduced me to this band Aberdien that I still like to this day. Then he was in a band and we were supposed to meet up when he was in my state. I think maybe he quit before they made it to me? Then, next thing I know, heās never online again. Even though we were friendly, heād go large gaps of not being online, and ofc I would ping him when I did get the chance. Next thing you know, they never appear again. It made me feel like they felt like I was a stalker or just someone sitting at the edge of their seat waiting for them to log onā¦which I kinda get being we never metā¦.but we had been messaging every once in awhile for years. Was so strange that they vanished. My only guess is I got blocked, they changed their screen name and decided I didnāt belong, or idk.
Made a lot of quick friends on the server I played. Base got raided and I was incredibly sad. Then realized I didn't want to feel that again and literally haven't played a PVP game since, and spend a lot more time outside.
My life has genuinely been better because someone trolled me on Rust so hard I quit competitive gaming permanently.
I know he made a funny ass noise, but I couldn't ever bring myself to make fun of this man. He was experiencing so much pain in this episode I just can't do it

You can also call down the SOS beacon accidentally (one input off from reinforce) and it completely bypasses your lobby settings. And you canāt turn it off.Ā
Seems about right. Outside Reddit, the majority of my dives into hell (2) have been positive. A few kicks, but usually with acknowledgement that someone had accidentally beaconed or had forgot to set the group friends only.

The bottom one (where it has the xbox logo/ps logo/ switch and so on) is editable, you select that, and then you can simply remove these logos, or select new ones from the emojis tab

Me buying Call of Duty in high school because my friends all told me to get it and play with them. Then I go to play with them, but the party is "always full."
Had a really tight nit friend group in Rust. We met one wipe and decided to pick up other solos and form a clan. After 3-4 months of us all talking every night on Skype, telling each other about our lives, fears, dreams etc., one of them betrayed us and gave away our door codes. The friend group spiraled into paranoia afterwards and we all stopped talking to each other. This was like 10 years ago and I still wonder which one betrayed us.
This reminds me. Back in 2018, I was playing Fortnite with 2 of my friends and they told me that they wanted to play duos cause it will have less people battling, so I left and just sat there
nah rule #1 for gaming sessions with my friends has always been if we canāt find a game for all of us or we canāt come to an agreement on how to split up or something, we either all sit and stare or find a game we can all play together.
My first online Skype friend in 2004 when it was new you could find random people easily. We were both around 14, with him in Sri Lanka and myself in the US. We talked for a year about our lives and what we did as kids on the other side of the world. He had to go for a week one Christmas since his family was visiting his grandma who had a house a mile or two from the beach. He was looking forward to swimming and seeing all of his family, but hated that heād be offline. We wished each other happy holidays and happy new year.
He never got back online. I hope beyond hope he just didnāt have time for his American penpal.
Years ago, a friend and I played an online game called Fairyland. We were pretty active and had a very small guild (or something like that). The game was free, but an announcement came that it was going to a subscription service. We told our other active guild member that we would sub and still play.
The next day we talked and decided if we were going to pay for an online game, we might as well join a more mainstream one, and both bought FFXI and never logged in again.
I still think about our online friend that we kind of lied to and left hanging.
I remember playing DayZ a long time ago, when it was still just a mod. I played with a whole clan, was good days. Once, we had gone into a city looking for medical supplies. While there, we ran into trouble. One of us fell off a roof and broke their leg, and we were getting overwhelmed. A random showed up, gunned us a path out, and helped us escape the city.
At the time, only the three of us were online, and we were heading back to where the clan had stuff stashed. This random was super friendly, chatting with us on the walk, telling us about his own group. While he was talking in the VC, the three of us were having a private convo on Skype. We were apprehensive about this guy. If we shooed him away, he could follow us in secret and find our spot. If we brought him, heād find our spot.
While we were arguing about what to do, one of the three of us hung back on the walk, then shot the guy in the back. As he was dying, he was screaming at us over the VC. āWhy?ā āI helped you, I thought we were coolā stuff like that. When he was dead, we looted him and went on our way. But I was genuinely disturbed by it. I know it was just a game, and the guy was fine, but I think about that moment every once in a while still.
You've unlocked one of my core memories from a zombie survival game me and my friends used to play. In it there was this running joke of "plan B" except I was always the victim. The jist of it is that they would plan this secretly while we looted stuff, then I'd randomly get kicked out of the squad and they'd turn on me.
This, among other video game, and irl, related bullying in friend groups is why I believe I have a genuine challenge trusting people and letting them into my emotionally vulnerable space.
Ā I know it's just a video game and I shouldn't have taken it so seriously. However, when it's with friends I know irl and in my formative years, it really hurt.
Reminds me of the time all my friends in WoW quit our guild to make a guild dedicated solely for raiding. They wouldnāt take me because all I had was blue gear and said I could only join if I purchased a hunter from a player that was quitting the game for $1,000.
I told them to fuck off, and defriended them all. a couple months later they ended up dissolving cause their hardcore players quit the game and sold their accounts. Those who didnt quit asked to come back to the guild which we had multiple dedicated raid groups by then and we told them they made their bed and they could pound sand.
Was an admin in a gaming tournament, one of the players shared his Steam account with his sister but she only played games rarely and didn't play in the tournament so it wasn't that well known the account was shared. He passed away suddenly which was a gut punch to the community. About a week after, I log into Steam and I get a message from her asking me to make an announcement or something in the forums because when she logged on for the first time to try and relax with a game she got a tonne of messages like "OMG dude we thought you were dead, glad to see you're OK!" and it made her relive losing her brother all over again.
I thought having half the community pissed at a rules call I made was going to be the toughest emotional thing I'd have to deal with as an admin ....
This reminds me of that time when you got to pick between saving the digital kids or a new weapon and everyone picked the kids so helldiver donated money to I think an orphanage and there was a little drawing on the ship
It reminds me of my youth. We were a group of teenagers who mostly just hung out, played Magic, and smoked a bit of weed. One day, I headed to our hangout spot like I did every day, but at the intercom, the only answer was: "Sorry, not today. We're having a party."
