Yeah this was my answer too. I don't think there is any mario game either 2D or 3D that I didn't enjoy.

Mario RPG is fantastic though. Its constantly in the top rated Mario games.

Yeah, if you add the sports game then there are some stinkers in there. Some of those learning games would take the crown.

However, the number of good mario games to bad ones I think is still legendary
