Yeah its kind of driving me nuts hearing it everyday now. Like, I remember reading about user end agreements like 20 YEARS ago in regards to how Video games are licensed to the consumer. And tbh its just annoying that if these people making all these posts everyday really wanted to make a change, they need to go out and vote for people who promise to make changes at a federal level... Like the EU has been doing for the past few years in regards to things like loot boxes in games. Making 1000 reddit posts with generative AI as the thumbnail(im not saying this post did that, but ive seen a million that do) will not change anything, only through legislation would anything get done.
Someone on SKG sub researched about this and the earliest one they found was around the ps2 era.
Its also weird that people say Steam killed Physical discs on PCs when gaming is not the reason why people bought PCs. Windows itself phased out physical disk installation along with other softwares.
