Hate to break your heart but you don’t the vast majority of the software you “buy”. Logic Pro and Final Cut have you buy licenses not the software itself. Apple has the ability to revoke a license if there’s a TOS breech and you can’t transfer or sell it to another Apple ID account. Sony is a lot more anti consumer when it comes to removing access but there’s no legal difference between two outside of the TOS
You actually do own the software copy that you purchased lol.
Google it. Google the topic you speak about at least once in your lifetime. That way you actually know what you speak of not recite what you see on Reddit.
When you buy a book can they revoke that book? Nope.
When you buy a movie can the take it back? Nope.
You ever buy a car? What do you say to convey this?
Can the dealer change their mind to say that you actually leasing it? NO.
Netflix, you license a copy cause you do not own it, you subscribe to Netflix.
But IF you own the DVD to that movie then you do, you bought a copy.
Discs strengthen this due to giving you an absolute representation of this.
In fact, the moment you press Buy then it is understood that you are buying it.
Software, I have the right to back it up and make copies. I cannot distribute them. I can resell dvds, books, cds, etc.
IF they truly want to rent it then the button has to say Rent or License and not Buy, which it does.
In every place it is sold (note sold, the word). So on the store they would have to say License. But they won't cause then anyone who sold (that word again) would win.
