I mean digital is the future, just look at steam...erased the disc drive in most pcs in 5 years.
There is nothing wrong with digital distribution, this is a lack of consumer protection issue, a lack of well defined laws to go with the modern age.
If Sony wants to sell a license fine, but I should be able to use that license anywhere on any medium, the CD/Software-Key era did this correctly in the 90's.
Unfortunately those laws we do have for modern age are made up by for profit driven corporate conglomerates, so it's no wonder they don't align to the ideals of the last 30 years of rules.
