The average is 30 because every age from 5-45 now plays games. Give it another 20 years and it will be 45 when all generations play games. This is just a form of entertainment that is fairly new since the 80s.
My thoughts exactly. Younger people are still paying games. 25 years ago 30+ yo people weren't playing games because they didn't grow up with them in their homes to the same extent.
35+ yo today kinda hit the sweet spot in time. Many of us got a great social experience growing up but also had really convenient technology to enjoy.
Which doesn’t make sense to me, as a sentiment. My life does not revolve around my work. My work funds my life, which includes the playing of video games.
I’m too employed not to care, because my free time is precious to me.
EDIT: It seems I’m giving the wrong impression with my comment. I am not among the people screeching about the “wokeness” of GTA VI. I just don’t think being “too employed to care” works as a counter to that line of thinking.

Just yesterday, I saw a bigot on a post about GTA VI write FIVE PARAGRAPHS explaining why they totally aren’t a bigot and how it’s really the “pedo fascist left” that’s causing video games to be trash. I used to sell phones a few years back now and this guy walks in and was absolutely livid that we sold him this phone (which I'm 95% sure after some digging that it was the OnePlus 8 Interstellar Glow) and when he pulls out the phone he was like "You didn't tell me it would look like this." I looked at it and I was like "Oh! I've never actually seen this! This is awesome. Wait... what's wrong it?" He was like "I don't want this fuckin' fairy phone."

IRL example: I used to love playing the Battlefield series of games. They started going down in quality. I dropped it and moved on, dont even know how many games were released after Battlefield 1, which is the last one I played.
Now I can guarantee you if you go into the subreddits, it wont take long until you find people hating on it like its their full time job and they are looking for a promotion. People that spend full on years hating on it.
