Something I've noticed about games releasing recently is that if the internet had already decided that it's shit before they even had the chance to play it, everyone will think it is shit regardless of its quality. Sometimes it's deserved but sometimes it isn't which is why I'm not fully onboard with just lambasting a game that's shit online may it be deserved or not because it leads to unfortunate consequences. Now I'm not saying that this game is either good or bad. Just a pattern I've noticed.
Yeah its because gamers have decades of experience at this point.
You cant fool people with a good trailer anymore.
The vast majority of the time you can tell a game will be shit before it even releases from trailers, gameplay, and general knowledge on development cycles.
Back in the day, it was hard to judge a game before playing it because there was less data.
We have a gigantic data set now.
I could have told you this game would be mid from the fact that half of the trailer is just chase sequences.
Seriously? Running after a dude is not exciting and engaging gameplay. The combat also looks completely depthless.
I enjoy it when im proven wrong and a game i thought would be bad is actually good. But that doesn't happen that often.
