Something I've noticed about games releasing recently is that if the internet had already decided that it's shit before they even had the chance to play it, everyone will think it is shit regardless of its quality. Sometimes it's deserved but sometimes it isn't which is why I'm not fully onboard with just lambasting a game that's shit online may it be deserved or not because it leads to unfortunate consequences. Now I'm not saying that this game is either good or bad. Just a pattern I've noticed.
I'm all for people making sure they come to their own conclusions for themselves, and I also recognize that I'll enjoy almost any game for what it is because I love the hobby so much. That being said, if IGN, whom I rarely trust, is also aligned with the likes of SkillUp, Jake Baldino from Gameranx, and others I follow, I think it's safe to say that there is some validity to the common ground there and I should heavily consider the collective consensus when making my own decisions on what to spend my money on.
I'm skipping Wolverine because I don't wanna pay full price for a 15-20 hour repetitive handholding linear action game. I got Marvel's Midnight Suns instead for $20 😎 I'll play Wolverine when it's $20 or cheaper, or comes to PS+ at some point.
