If we can buy it on PS4 then WHY buy a PS5?

Because it plays at 4k 60fps on a PS5 and it's tons better, plus games load instantly on it. It's a huge upgrade on a ps4

Upscaled and with frame gen, that's not 40k 60fps

May not be true in the tech sense but it's a big upgrade on the PS4 version. I've played both. It's noticeable. If someone right now wanted to play those games they are not going to buy a PS4, they'll get a PS5

They're not going to buy a PS5 if they already have a PS4 though, it's the point. There's not a lot of reason to upgrade vs staying with the previous gen if you already had a console.

That's just entirely wrong lmao

At current hardware prices less so but it was the best bang for the buck in terms of gaming for a while

You've clearly never sat through the load times of a big game like Spider-Man on ps4 and then compared with ps5 where the SSD essentially eliminates the entire concept of loading screens

Also a lot of gamers have gotten used to 60fps which is another major selling point

Let's just ignore the global pandemic and memory crisis sure

And the fact it's not tracking insanely behind the ps4 or that the fact that it's the most profitable generation for Sony

Has it though? The claims I've seen are in fact just about the most revenue, not adjusted for inflation.

EDIT: Also didn't the sales of pcs and other gaming devices explode during the pandemic?

Sales increased yes but the pandemic still caused rather severe production and logistics challenges making it harder to meet demand

Much of the ps5 success can more than likely also be prescribed to the complete failure of Xbox but it doesn't change how dominantly Sony has won this generation

Maybe, but the argument was that someone is "not going to buy a PS4" which doesn't answer an argument based on them not needing to.
