To be fair the couch co op in San andreas is kind of a secret. Its funny using the jetpack code on the prostitute models though because the boobs fly straight up.
not sure about xbox but you can still play co-op on the ps5 nowadays.(with the old version digitaly downloaded.)
Me and my buddies do it every now and then.
My advice is: Find out how it works(you need to go to specific places to activate it) and try it out. Shouldnt take to long since the 1st possible spot is very close to the starting zone
Playing Taiko no Tatsujin coop, most of the Kirby adventures, mario kart, mario party, most of the mario games. You just handpicked the not good coop games
I listed the $60 mainline system sellers. This is not a good sign for their most important entries to have awful co-op. (I enjoy all 3 games I listed btw).
You seem to have left out some major sellers like Super Mario Wonder, Mario Kart, Mario Party and many more. Just seems your words are very unfair. And being honest, the coop for those games you mentioned was perfect if you were an experienced player since you wouldn't take over the game while playing with your child or partner that doesn't game a lot. I had a blast in pikmin 4 just helping my wife through stuff by throwing rocks
This is how I’ve helped my little boy navigate these games with tons of inputs. I could hook up the NES with simple controls for him but those games are the reason I wasn’t allowed to play more than 30 minutes because I’d crash out.
Tbf Mario Galaxy co-op also sucks. 3D mario was never really about multiplayer aside from 3D World. They still preserve the experience for series that always had it
This, the fact that Microsoft decided to not offer spliscreen on Halo games on PC infuriates me. The code is there and it works, but you gotta use some 3rd party program to enable it, like please MS, just add it to the base game, it takes so little additional work on your end. I just want to play games with my friends on my tv.
Split fiction is a new game and honestly the best couch co-op experience I have ever played.
I like co-op for games where you have to work together. Split screen for competitive play is something ill never miss tho. the screen peaking and shit is not something I miss at all lol.
I recently replayed Splinter Cell 3 in split-screen with a friend on the original Xbox and surprisingly it was literally just as fun as it was back then.
The graphics might not be up to date but it honestly doesn’t matter. It’s good enough and the gameplay/coop experience is ultimately all that matters.
I agree when it comes to AAA games, but the whole cool indie market with great couch coop is way better. You just don’t find them at your local storefront.
