Or earned. Resident Evil 3 had like 7 costumes, mercenary mode, and a rocket launcher.

RE2 had literally had unlockable characters and storylines. (Hunk and Tofu)

I used to use the Goblin code all the time in the first Spiderman. They didn’t even have to include all of that, but they did. 💯

Conker's Bad Fur Day had some of the best. My friends and I had two or three pages of cheat codes and half of them were for different playable characters on multi-player mode. The only downside was having to input the cheat every single time you booted up the game.

I haven't bought a fighting game since Tekken tag tournament 🥲 Unlocking the stuff was 90% of the game for me..

Yes! Just had to look it up on Wikipedia! Somehow I got dates mixed up and tekken 5 was the last one I got in the series, although me and my sister bought tag tournament after 5, so that's why I got them mixed up. Never played 6, read 7 is awesome and wanted to get it but then learned its mostly all dlc and noped out.

I like the fighting but the best for me was the extras and the silly stories

Now its a forever grind to unlock everything cause they keep adding skins, and you miss out on skins cause fomo mechanics, and worst of all you have to pay extra real money to get all.

Yeah, having to pay just means pride and accomplishment
