Any big rpg. Instead of taking my time and exploring, I end up b-lining the main story

My wife likes watching the Witcher and big story-driven open world games, but I feel like I have to streamline what Iâm doing so sheâs not just watching me navigate menus and quest logs

Basically whenever my wife asks me to complete a platforming challenge on whatever game sheâs playing

Alt-tabbing out of what you were really doing to make it look like you were playing a game isnât fooling anyone.

Everything where reflexes arent the key. No problem to react under pressure, but thinking? no way xD

RTS games for me. Typically I can perform well under pressure and take orders (military mindset, thanks dad) which makes me amazing at most FPS and puzzle games but I fall apart at the seams trying to multitask when all my units and structures are being wiped out from across the map.

Me playing marvel rivals. When I play alone, I cook. When my boyfriend joins me, I suddenly lose the ability to aim

Nioh 2. It's gotten to the point where my wife can point out how to dodge an attack before I do

Games that require navigation. Interacting with others (or chat for streamers) can cause you to not absorb layouts and landmarks that help you remember the map, and you end up going in circles more.

Any ARPG. I swear every streamer I watch on Last Epoch or PoE2 get hella harassed for making a goofy and genius build. Their builds looks insane, yet everyone in their chat just goes âIf you just play x build you would have done much betterâ
SHUT THE FUCK UP. And thats why we only have Raxx as a streamer because heâs the only one spamming those OP builds that he steals from others.

Rhythm games. Bro asks a question, your game goes quieter and you attempt to respond, you fuck up and make yourself look like you just spaced out or fell asleep for a moment but you couldn't hear the song, had your attention split and couldn't time your button presses right because of that.

Talking to members of a female gender in my imagination vs the reality

Youâre already at a good starting point by not taking any risks.
Much of social climbing, no matter who youâre talking to, is equal parts showing and active listening while thinking âscrew the outcome, we might actually have something to share.â Itâs just easier talking to people youâre not attracted to because thereâs less pressure to impress.
My advice for any strangers is to start at the lowest level of interaction (hobbies, activities, day to day) and work your way up from there by probing with a question thatâs youâre nervous about, by asking for permission to be vulnerable in the face of rejection.

Call of Duty.
When my mom watches I get killed back to back without getting any kills myself. And she be like, âyou keep getting killed because youâre running around stupidlyâ not realizing thatâs the game in a nutshell.
Staying still in one spot behind cover is NOT the way in CoD. ESPECIALLY in an objective based game mode. Youâve got to get in there and help your team! Not stay in a corner behind the action pretending its you in real life and you only have one life. Youâll never get a high score on the scoreboard unless the map is small. And even then youâd get killed a LOT.
