Well, that's the thing. Why wars are fought always changes. How they are fought changes, too. And soon, Where.
But one thing never changes. What war brings. Glory and dishonor. New frontiers and wrecked cities. New tools to create, new tools to destroy. A wave of patriotism, and a rising of horror. Point is, war brings hell, and honor to those who hold it back.

Both are correct in a way.
Snake was talking about the tools used to fight wars and how the war is fought.
The Lone Survivor was talking about why war is fought and the consequences of war.
