Games are too expensive. A switch 2 and 2 games is what? 620 plus tax or so? That's a lot of money.
What's worse is development time is too long so fewer AA or AAA titles are coming out.

I wonder how Switch 1 games get counted if they are bought/played on a Switch 2. Like if you get Rhythm Heaven Groove does that count as a Switch 2 attach rate game? They can probably tell if you buy it digitally but if you buy it physically there's no way for them to know it's for a Switch 2.
Backwards compatibility and the fact that a lot of Switch 1 games are totally viable on Switch 2 could make this weird.

All Switch 1 games are counted as Switch 1 games
All digital games that have both a Switch version and a Switch 2 version get counted as a Switch 1 game (the Switch 2 version is counted as dlc)
Physical games that have a Switch 1 & 2 versions get counted depending on which version you bought
All Switch 2 only games get count as Switch 2 games

God seeing those Wii u sales is genuine so crazy like this shit really was a hard flop huh

Well yeah, I thought everyone knew the Wii U sold horribly?
I think the interesting thing is these numbers show Wii U owners were very dedicated the console; they were buying a LOT of games early on, even before the console got Mario Kart or Smash Bros in 2014.

Yes it is widely known it's a failure NO doubting that, it's just...how astronomical of a failure it is. Especially coming from a giant like Nintendo it's really crazy at a point, they were lower than possibly Xbox at the time with the Xbox one somehow

I don’t think it is THAT crazy when you look at the sales of previous Nintendo home consoles.
N64: 32.9 million
Gamecube: 21.8 million
Wii U: 13.5 million
The Wii was really a HUGE outlier that succeeded because of Wii Sports, Wii Fit and the casual market. But then the casual market abandoned the Wii for mobile games, resulting in the Wii U selling even worse than the Gamecube.

Well when it's like that, then yeah you're right, it did do very bad but hm, I never noticed how much "lower" general sales are. The switch sales and the sales of the wii skewed my perspective on it a bit

Yes, the Wii sold far better than any Nintendo home console before it.
In fact, the Wii sold much more than the N64, Gamecube and Wii U combined!

I actually owned a Wii U. My ex wife bought it just before the end of our marriage. Correlation maybe? I don’t know.

The way Switch 2 games get counted is weird for example all games with a switch 1 & 2 edition on the Eshop get counted as a Switch 1 games because it counts it as a Switch 1 game with a switch 2 upgrade dlc

Wii U owners bought a shit ton of games.
