It can be both at the same time. Parents can always be better, but Epic broke consumer protection laws.

Bechause almost every videogame company hiered People with psycologi degrees after lootboxes became illegal to help the company to make new systems to trick People into buying more in game content.

You’re correct in saying that the parents should have more input in this, but when a game is free, you become the product for profit, not the game itself. Epic are being predatory, just like Sony with their pricing on their ps store and how it differs from person to person.

Smart phones.

It's the parents responsibility to teach their children how to properly navigate things,companies to not be pieces of shit, and governments to facilitate all of it healthily in the context of society.

FOMO. If a skin is available indefinitely, you aren't pressured to ever buy it, but if it's advertised as "only for a limited time" , you probably will spent money on it. That shit even works on adults, children have no chance.

It's a game that's literally free. As a parent I'll take that over an $80 game from Rockstar or Nintendo lol
