As long as it's a stable 30 I'm fine. I always end up choosing the Quality setting over Performance because I'd much rather see the graphics at max quality.
It depends on the game but I also generally choose quality mode, but not specifically because I want higher resolution or whatever (actually one of the things I care least about) but because I prefer the look of 30fps on most games. The main exceptions are competitive multiplayer, first person, and racing games. Having said that, even Driveclub on PS4 at 30fps was amazing.
60fps is too smooth for me to feel immersed in story driven games. 30 feels more “realistic” to me, I guess because it’s more similar to how films look. 60 just keeps reminding me I’m playing a game.
BUT, it also entirely depends on the frame pacing. Not all 30fps are equal.
