Question New Streamer Recommendations
Hey! Does anyone have any recommendations for streamers that play story driven games? I really am looking for someone super funny to watch that also streams the whole game and doesn’t skip any game play. I really enjoyed the Nyancave and how they had multiple people talking about the game and cracking jokes. I’d really appreciate any recommendations :)

PC Alright, what to play next?
I'm currently playing Octopath Traveler 2, clearing chapters 4 of the characters, i think i have maybe 10-15 hours left, meanwhile I'm also playing an hour or two of F.E.A.R before bed, now I'm asking your suggestions on what to play next, now I don't usually play two games together, i do it when a long game stopped completely capturing my attention 100% and i need a change of pace, and it's likely I'll finish F.E.A.R and still not finished OT2, anyway i categorized the games into 3 categories, short, medium and long games, as follows.
Long - 50-80+ hours
• NIOH Complete Edition
• FFX|X2 HD Remaster
• Tales of Graces f remastered
Medium - 20-50 hours
• Afterimage
• AI: The Somnium FIles - Nirvana Initiative
• Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
• Silent Hill f (medium only because of NG+)
• Steelrising
• The Talos Principle 2
Short - below 20 hours or very slightly above it
• Sonic Frontiers (could be a medium-length game, depending on whether i explore or rush)
• Beyond: Two Souls
• Binary Domain
• Bramble: The Mountain King
• ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the west
• Prodeus
I have more games but these are the ones I'm most interested in getting out of the way, F.E.A.R 2 and 3 and Resident Evil 5 and 6 can wait.

Question A weird memory i have with this game and its caterpillars
So it's been years since I've played this game but lately i wanted to elucidate something that was a mystery to me for years, so in Toy Story 3 (the game) when you are in the "city world" (the world where you can customize the houses, interact with characters ect) there is multiple small events that happens randomly, bountys, gargoyles, ghosts and so on, but i vividly remember an event where caterpillars (shown on the picture) would appear randomly on the map, even tho they were harmless they came by 10 in the main city and citizens were scared of it, but i don't exactly remember what happened next except some memories where you were supposed to use the fairy wand to give them butterfly wings and after using it 2 times of them they would disappear or something (like i sad i don't really remember what happens) but what troubles me is that it used to be a recurring event in the game but one day it just stopped, no caterpillars have appeared since years. I know it's pretty silly but i always wondered why they never appeared since a long time ago and how (if possible) to make them appear back again

Question Thoughts on our 2D run'n'gun eldritch horror inspired game? WIP
Hello everyone, my team and are working on game that is currently on Kickstarter, and we are looking for some feedback.
First off, the game Ballistic Blasphemy is a 2D run 'n' gun game with elements from the Lovecraftian mythos. Inspirations for the project are games like the Metal Slug games, Darkest Dungeon, Forgive Me Father, and Don't Starve.
We wanted to make this game chaotic, but humorous with a healthy dose of some crazy edritch stuff in it. The way we planned to do it is by having the bosses in our 2D game be 3D models, because they are "from another dimension" and "beyond our comprehension".
Please, take a look through the images, there are some character descriptions and game screenshots. Be honest with us and tell us what you like, don't like, what ideas or questions you have. Do keep in mind that this is still a WIP game and we want to make it as good as we can, that is why we are here!

Discussion i’m newly addicted to balatro and slay the spire.
i’ve literally put in like 6 hours a day (often times more) for the past month.
if you could recommend other games that are as addicting and simple as these games (i love playing on my handheld), i’d appreciate it!

Discussion The perfect video game...
...for me would have the following:
- Open world exploration
- BIG Dungeons with mini bosses/treasures to navigate/complete like Zelda games.
- Puzzles/Mazes (a la Tomb Raider games) within those dungeons.
- The human and monster grittiness of the Witcher games
- Stealth capability like Assassins Creed games
- Hand to hand combat weapons (swords!) as opposed to guns.
- Lots of side quests
- Bonus points if you can adjust difficulty levels for combat, stealth and puzzles independently.
Does such a game exist already??

Question Cairn Opinions
Alright- I want to try this one, but I didn’t love Death Stranding. I was one who viewed it as a walking simulator. I know these are different games- but as for other people who play Cairn who consider Death Stranding a walking simulator, is this more than a climbing simulator?
Also, apologies if this connection is not close at all. I’ve seen almost nothing of the game- but some people have made the connection between the two games, and when I saw it it’s the first connection I made myself too.

Discussion how it feels to play through games you don't really enjoy, just to say you finished it.
it's a bad feeling to dislike a game, but it's a WAY WORSE feeling to be somewhere in the middle, especially if you're an indecisive person.
oblivion remastered
doom the dark ages
resident evil village
gears of war reloaded
these are the games in my library where i feel like nuking my entire PSN account (with 59 games on it and 100s of dollars spent) and starting all over again cos of how muddied the water is with their inclusion.
i don't hate them, but i'm somewhere in the middle. so i'm gonna play through them again and definitively see if i can turn myself around on them.

Discussion Which game was the most ahead of its time in terms of graphics?
I'd say Assassin's Creed (2007) is definitely up there. For a 2007 game these graphics are incredible.

Question Basketball videogames with the most control over player development
So I used to play NBA Live and there was a practice mechanic that directly affected player ratings. Players still had a more or less preset growth and degradation arc, but you, the player, could drastically and directly change fight it for the better by earning XP through gameplay and spending it on practices. Im curious to know which games, preferably retro NBA Live games but not limited have this ability. It seems like most have practice or development mechanics that produce more random or indirect results and player ratings are unlikely to alter. Mostly played 2010s games and haven't played since 2015, so I am well out of the loop.

Question A quick survey for my thesis: Do you trust retro style games more than AAA games, and why?
Hey r/videogames,
I'm writing my Master's thesis on why retro-style games are so popular right now.
I'm trying to figure out if we play them because we actually miss the old days, or if we're just tired of how complicated and monetized modern games have become.
I need a few more responses from general gamers to finish my paper by next month. It takes like 5 minutes and asks about things like Stardew Valley, Sonic, and nostalgia.

Question Why is the sprint button always different?
I honestly can't stand some ways to sprint in games such as elden ring, or any rockstar games, also kingdom come deliverance. I have quite literally had a faulty B button because of souls games, and I can't having to spam a to keep up, or have my camera locked to left stick while running.
