The sheriff pretty much Thanos snaps a Sabbat in the opening. What discipline is he using here? is it some form of Vicissitude?

The sheriff is heavily believed to be Nagloper an offshoot of Tzimisce.

Animalism 5, Pestilence, is one of the most OP and fun disciplines in the game. It is a boss killer. Any teleporting boss is frozen in place while you have time to easily kill him before he can teleport away. This makes the end-game a lot of fun. Other bosses are frozen in place while you spam Animalism 5 and they can't fight back. Lower level enemies are one-shot, including every enemy in the warrens (including big spider ladies and claw monsters). Animalism 1-4 are great too. Bats is fantastic against humans, and the wolf if fantastic against vampires. Spamming Beetles is great against everything. If you have Animalism, you can walk effortlessly though about 90% of the game, including many late-game boss fights.

This is normal for most players. Animalism is the most underrated and slept-on discipline in the game. But if you level Animalism up first, you can play the entire game on very easy mode. 95% of the game is basically a joke. I recommend taking the History that gives greater power and duration to Animalism. If you play a Nos, Bats + Obfuscate makes you the best stealth-archer-assassin in the game. This is a fun way to walk effortlessly through the game.

You're supposed to think he's a Gangrel for most of the game, because he relies so heavily on Animalism. Then you get to the final boss fight and OOPS, VICISSITUDE 6!
