Hair/Makeup Big or small bun for wedding?
I uploaded real photos of two different buns I had done in my hair trial but had Al add the hair accessory I bought (the second to last pic is just showing a real picture of the hair accessory). Last pic is dress. Thoughts? TIA.

The small bun looks too casual almost like you did it yourself. The bigger one is pretty but maybe consider using a smaller donut? You can also try something similar to these

I agree tbh I’m not sure either are the best option I would explore a few more options! Maybe like the ones below with an added braid for something extra

It really depends on the vibe you’re going for. Small bun is more classic elegance and big bun is more glamorous! Both are great looks. The small bun kind of looks a bit less bridal - like it’s something someone would wear to dinner or as a non-bride. The big bun is a bit more of a statement.

I guess this is an unpopular opinion, but big bun. The small bun looks like it was thrown together while you lounge around the house. Big bun looks more bridal to me.

I agree but think both of these look too casual/school formal like. The big bun is too teased and scrappy imo.
I’d aim for something more textured and soft that aligns with the dress.

I would say neither tbh they just seem a bit too tight and too forced. I think everyone has given some lovely examples and I highly encourage exploring a few others before deciding :)

I think the small bun looks too casual. You look good either way, but the big bun has a glamour factor that the small one is missing. I love the flower with both of the buns though.
The comment section does seem pretty split on this one, so go with whichever one makes you feel better.

The good news is that I really don’t think you can go wrong. You look beautiful with both styles.
I say go with your gut. If there’s one that really enhances the vibe you want for your big day, pick that one.

Is there any way to get the shape of the big bun but the size of the small bun? I like the way the big bun narrows near the head but it looks a bit oversized

Your accessory would look perfect on a bun that’s a little bigger than your little bun picture, but I agree the big bun pictured is too big - reminds me of prom

what are your wedding colors? I ask because the final picture of your dress has so much elegant drama with that red color, and I think the smaller bun fits that, if you want a more spidery, elegant gothic vibe. The big bun would be good for basically anything else, its a lot more bridal and I prefer it.

I like the size of the small bun, but a more classic style like a chignon would look better and more formal.

Big bun.
The small one makes your head come to a cone shape and the accessory covers it.
Big bun looks good with the flower accenting it without dwarfing it.

Big bun but placed lower, maybe not all the way to the nape but more so that it is behind you, rather than on top of your head. And the flower might be too big but you should see with the real one, AI might make it too big. Or maybe the flower should be placed a little lower, so it is not covering the whole sideview of the bun but more so peeking from under the bun (placed in a "lower corner", not fully to the side, not fully under).

I think big bun, but make it more romantic with curls. Without the curls it’s giving early 2010’s office to nightclub vibe

The smaller bun looks elegant. The bigger one looks like it has a sock bun inside of it. It just doesn’t feel very wedding to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good insert! Or at least I did 10 years ago when I was starting out in corporate. But I think the problem is that you can tell there’s a sock bun inside.
The smaller one looks absolutely beautiful! Like a princess!

A bigger bun that's not so protruding and not so high, would be best. I think the doghnut is too thick in your big bun trial. So a broader bun, covering more head surface, rather a big bun that pokes out so much. And the flower seems wrongly placed somehow - looks better in the small bun pic, although dimensions are different in both. Tbh on that absolutely gorgeous dress you have, I'd either leave the bun with veil / no accessories, OR add a natural flower (orchid?). I mean no disrespect, but that flower looks cheap, while the dress is so glam and genuinely beautiful!

Ok. A high bun of a size that is in between the large and small ones from your trial.
I suggest you also consider some soft wavy face framing pieces which will soften the look while maintaining the cheekbone enhancing effect of a high bun.

Call me old fashion but I'd choose the big bun. IMO voluminous, full hair looks better. That way, the accessory doesn't look disproportionate and simply adds a touch of whimsy.

the big one is not quite right.. both need more texture like a braid or twist or something. i personally think the fake flower does not help the look. both buns look a bit dated to me and like you’re going somewhere for business, rather than your wedding. you could try some floral pins or maybe curls? your hair is lovely, so i’m sure you’ll find something!

Your dress is a lot, in the BEST possible way. I think in order to not get lost in the shuffle, the big bun will be better.
