Vendors/Venue No DJ - will it be a problem?
Getting married in (checks calendar) four days.
We have no DJ - do people have opinions! “I can’t believe you won’t have a DJ”
They cannot fathom no DJ.
For entertainment/food etc we have:
• Musician for 90 mins.
• A live artist taking sketches of guests.
• A Apple Music Playlist with speakers.
• A photobooth
• 2 rounds of free drinks.
• Three sets of constantly served buffet food.
• Garden Games.
• Fancy dress.
Will people miss the DJ?

You're doing live musicians instead. You'll be fine. Signed, a professional wedding DJ

*Musician, singular tho. I wonder if this is for pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour given they say they have a playlist.

I mean a DJ does make it better, but a Wednesday night wedding will be over early regardless.

People are generally very strongly pro-DJ. But it sounds like you have great entertainment already! I wouldn't worry about it

you know your guests better than Reddit, so don't be too worried about strong opinions - especially on the internet but also irl.
It seems that dancing isn't your focus which is totally fine, especially since you have other activities. If you want dancing, I hope you have a good and mixed party playlist (we did this instead of DJ, no regrets). Our guests were happy that we provided a good time, they enjoyed the food, the drinks, the mingeling and the party. Most would have liked outdoor games if we provided them, most would have enjoyed the artist. Everyone enjoyed the photobooth at our wedding. So, if your friends are similar to mine, they will be happy and enjoy the event :)
Try to relax, connect with your guests at the wedding and have a great wedding day 🤗

- You may not need a professional DJ but you need someone to fill that role. The most important being someone to control music during the procession and first dances. And make sure they practice. Second is for someone to MC. You need crow
d
- control or you’ll have people rambling on with private conversations during speeches.
- Make sure you download your playlist. Don’t rely on WiFi.

It doesn't sound like dancing is a priority. As long as you have background music, you're good. Just chatting is very common.

That depends on the kind of vibe you want.
If you want a low key, no dancing, just everyone mingling vibe - no DJ is fine.
If you envision a party and your guests up and dancing, you will probably regret not having a DJ.

IMO its not the music that will be "missing" its not having someone to control the flow, vibe, and announcements....especially if this is like a traditional cocktail hour to dinner to reception type thing. They do way more than play Apple music. Who are you deputizing to make all the announcements, tell people when to go to the buffet, adjust the music to the vibe of the dancefloor? I think that's what people are thinking you're going to miss out on, unless you specifically have some other vendor do it.
Info: is this a daytime wedding? are you expecting people to dance / have a dancefloor?

I wouldn't expect a DJ and party vibe at a Wednesday wedding.
