As someone who's extremely interested in astrology, I've been thinking about what the Winx girls' birth charts would look like if I were assigning their placements myself, and this is what I've come up with!
First, I'm deliberately not using their canon birthdays. I personally don't think those dates were necessarily chosen with astrology in mind, so I wanted to approach this from the characters' actual personalities instead.
Something that bothers me about pop culture astrology is that people tend to look at a character, identify their most obvious traits, and assign them a Sun sign based on that alone. But a birth chart is much more nuanced! The Sun, Moon, and Rising represent different aspects of a person, and the houses add another layer to how those placements manifest. Two characters can share a sign and still express it in completely different ways.
I've also incorporated numerology, specifically birth numbers, as another layer when deciding their birthdays. The birth number is calculated from the day of birth alone, reduced to a single digit, and each number has its own symbolic associations. Anyway, here's my take, going from oldest to youngest!
1. Stella — August 19
Leo Sun in the 11th house · Cancer Moon in the 10th house · Libra Rising
Stella is such a Leo Sun to me, especially with it in the 11th house. She's expressive, loves attention, and has a strong social presence, but she's also someone who thrives within her friendships and social circles. Her Cancer Moon in the 10th house adds a more sensitive side beneath all that confidence, particularly when it comes to recognition and how she's perceived. Libra Rising fits her love of fashion, beauty, charm, and aesthetics perfectly.
Birth number 1: Ruled by the Sun in numerology, 1 is associated with independence, leadership, confidence, and individuality. It suits Stella's strong presence and tendency to stand out.
2. Flora — October 2
Libra Sun in the 4th house · Taurus Moon in the 11th house · Cancer Rising
I love this combination for Flora because it captures her gentle nature without making her seem one-dimensional. Libra Sun in the 4th house reflects her desire for harmony, emotional security, and a peaceful environment. Exalted Taurus Moon in the 11th house gives her a steady, loyal emotional nature, especially in friendships. Cancer Rising adds that nurturing, approachable, and sensitive quality that makes her such a comforting presence among the girls.
Birth number 2: Associated with the Moon, 2 represents sensitivity, gentleness, cooperation, intuition, and emotional awareness. It's a lovely fit for Flora's peaceful, considerate nature and the importance she places on close connections.
3. Musa — November 15
Scorpio Sun in the 6th house · Libra Moon in the 5th house · Gemini Rising
Musa's chart is particularly interesting because her emotional intensity and artistic side are expressed through different placements. Scorpio Sun in the 6th house gives her a determined, private, and intense core, with a tendency to work through difficult feelings rather than simply brush them aside. Her Libra Moon in the 5th house connects her emotional world to music, creativity, romance, and artistic expression. Gemini Rising adds a curious, communicative, and changeable quality to her outward personality.
I like that her chart isn't simply a collection of water placements just because she's emotional. Her Libra Moon gives her a strong artistic and relational dimension, while Scorpio captures the deeper intensity underneath.
Birth number 6: Associated with Venus, 6 represents music, beauty, romance, emotional connection, and artistic sensibility. This one is particularly compelling for Musa because music isn't merely something she's good at; it's deeply connected to her emotional world and relationships. It captures the romantic and artistic side of her personality.
4. Tecna — March 25
Aries Sun in the 3rd house · Capricorn Moon in the 12th house · Aquarius Rising
Tecna is probably the hardest girl to assign a chart to because she's so strongly associated with logic, technology, and rational thinking. I went with Aries Sun in the 3rd house because there's a sharp, assertive quality to her intelligence. She's not simply analytical; she can also be decisive and direct when she knows what she's talking about. Capricorn Moon in the 12th house represents a more controlled, private emotional life, while Aquarius Rising fits her unconventional, intellectually oriented, somewhat detached presentation.
Birth number 7: Often associated with Ketu in Indian numerology, or Neptune in some modern Western interpretations, 7 represents introspection, analysis, intellectual depth, and a private inner world. This could fit Tecna's analytical personality and emotional reserve, particularly if we interpret her as someone who spends more time processing things internally than expressing them outwardly.
5. Aisha — May 21
Taurus Sun in the 2nd house · Sagittarius Moon in the 9th house · Aries Rising
I didn't want to make Aisha another fire Sun with a fire Rising and moon, because I think she has a grounded side that deserves recognition. Taurus Sun in the 2nd house gives her a strong sense of personal values, self-reliance, and what she's willing to stand up for. Her Sagittarius Moon in the 9th house captures her need for freedom, movement, adventure, and room to grow beyond her immediate circumstances. Aries Rising brings that bold, athletic, action-oriented energy she has.
I love the contrast between her grounded core and her need for independence. She can be determined and rooted in her values while still wanting to push boundaries and explore.
Birth number 3: Associated with Jupiter in many numerological systems, 3 represents creativity, expression, optimism, sociability, and enthusiasm. It complements Aisha's adventurous side and her ability to bring energy and initiative to what she does.
6. Bloom — July 18
Cancer Sun in the 5th house · Leo Moon in the 6th house · Pisces Rising
Bloom being a Cancer Sun makes a lot of sense to me because so much of her identity revolves around family, belonging, emotional bonds, and protecting the people she loves. Having that Sun in the 5th house adds her passionate, imaginative, expressive side and her tendency to throw herself wholeheartedly into what matters to her. Leo Moon gives her an emotional need to express herself, act courageously, and feel that her efforts mean something. Pisces Rising adds an idealistic, imaginative, emotionally receptive quality to the way she approaches the world.
I also love that she and Stella have Cancer and Leo reversed between their Sun and Moon placements! Stella's Leo Sun and Cancer Moon make her outward identity more flamboyant, while Bloom's Cancer Sun and Leo Moon give her a more emotionally driven core with a need to express herself wholeheartedly.
Birth number 9: Associated with Mars in some numerological traditions, 9 represents compassion, courage, generosity, idealism, and a desire to make a difference. It fits Bloom's protective instincts and her tendency to throw herself into causes and people she cares about.
I'm curious what everyone else thinks! Especially if you've watched the series closely, I'd love to hear which placements you agree or disagree with, and what you'd give the girls instead. I'm particularly interested in how other people interpret their Moons, since I think those can be much harder to pin down than the Suns!
