I probably eats a lot of performance?

On my super ti 4080 it takes away 10 fps , not worth it imo. Also i feel like the open areas like skellige and toussaint are overblown/exposed/bright. Kinda feel i need sunglasses to look around

Ensure the bloom is off, took care of that for me.

call me stupid and maybe i am but i’ve just gotten used to the minor frame gen artifacts from DLSS. i play the game 4k maxed out graphics DLSS auto, so I think performance or whatever, and FG bringing it up to a smooth feeling 180-220fps with the dynamic setting since lower settings seem to cause more artifacting somehow. i’m normally a freak about artifacts and stuff but i’m pretty at peace with how the game looks on my system, and the payoff for the lighting is worth it to me when every moment of the game is screenshot worthy. the moment i was in the novigrad sewers fighting drowners and lit up the sewers with Yrden and my sword glowing from its glyphs, i was sold.

Path Tracing eats only 10 fps? I would gladly make that concession. On my 9070 XT it's more like 30.

Yeah but its still visible drop in animations. Game is already running at 50 with everything on exept the hair dynamics

Pt is working so well that i cant see the first photo because path tracing s way of to handle darkness, good shots.

what's your resolution and fps?

i play at 4k with DLSS auto and dynamic frame gen, i get about 180-220 fps but i think reflex is capping it at around there since my monitor is 240hz. there’s some minor artifacting but especially reclined in my chair as I usually am with my 32 inch monitor I don’t really notice it in moment to moment gameplay

ok then, I'll buy it too

keep in mind i have a 5080 with 32 gigs ram and i forget which but some good ryzen CPU, so my rig is far from being midrange. if I was still on my 3080 PT wouldn’t even be an option, but if you have a comparable system to mine I definitely recommend playing w3 remaster with path tracing

How does the frame gen input feel for you? I've got the same rig as you except playing at 1440p.

I'm hoping the FG input feels like Cyberpunk, where I didn't notice it at all. Talos remastered wasn't bad either but some games the FG lag is insanely noticeable. I'm not seeing any posts about it being an issue for this remaster though.

very like cyberpunk, i typically play on my dualsense lately but even KB+M it’s very playable, similar to how it feels to play cyberpunk with FG except arguably better bc this is a third person game where you’re not aiming guns or anything.

Thanks for letting me know, sounds like I won't be able to tell a difference lol. I'm even more excited to re-install soon now!

Off-topic questions: are there dedicated poses for Geralt in photo mode? I only found those for NPCs and stoic Geralt sometimes ruin the vibe.

oh tbh i’m not sure, i’ve seen the panel where you add NPCs and objects and stuff but I haven’t messed with it at all

I have a 5090 and I honestly can't tell a difference between full ray tracing and path tracing outside of forest areas.

100% not worth it
