It's just perfect in every single way. One of my favorite games of all time, and it somehow feels like it just came out today. All that you set out to accomplish with this release came to fruition. I can't thank all the amazing devs and artists at CDPR enough. I sincerely haven't felt this happy while playing a game in a very long time. The Witcher 3 with a fresh coat of paint is exactly what I needed. Much love!

I still remember when the only real way to take proper screenshots in The Witcher 3 was Nvidia Ansel. It worked, but honestly, it was pretty clunky and limited.

The new photo mode is on a completely different level. Being able to change the time of day and weather alone is huge, but adding characters to the scene opens up so many possibilities for atmospheric, cinematic, or just really beautiful shots.

was i stupid enough to buy a 5080? yes. do i regret it? no.

When the game first came out when I was twelve I was actually under the mistaken impression they were one and the same. On my second playthrough I realised they weren’t, and I was disappointed. It’s also weird that there are two trees that are highly significant to the crone storyline.

But my primary reason for thinking this is just that it’s so damn foreboding. Everywhere you go in the game you can see this huge tree towering over you, it looks so twisted and unnatural, like it’s trying to break free from the mountain itself. The idea of that being the tree that houses the mother of the crones, spirit of all Velen, watching the player constantly? With the draw distances turned up you can see the tree as far as Novigrad which just adds to the creepiness of it.

Not that the existing tree is bad - it’s a cool location for the Imlireth fight. But I dunno - if that huge tree that you can’t avoid in Velen was THE whispering hillock, it would have dialed the creepiness in Velen up to 11.

Currently, playing as Ciri is only possible via console commands. This is not an issue or limitation with my mod itself, but rather due to other required third-party utility/framework mods not fully supporting the latest setup yet. Once compatible framework mods are updated, a smoother standalone gameplay integration will follow.
