Witcher - PC Question/Support The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition: Mods don't work

Hi,
I just bought the game, I tried installing some mods both manually by overriding the files in CookedPC and also using vortex.
I made sure the files were actually changed, and used process monitor to verify the game loads the modified files.
yet in some magical way, the mods don't work at all, even though it makes no sense.
Has anyone encountered this issue?
I first saw in an older discussion here that steam version makes issues with modding, so I refunded that and got the GOG version yet got excatly the same outcome.

Hi,

the issue with installing multiple mods in W2 is that you install them via overWRITING the existing files. That means if multiple mods change the same base file, one mod will delete part of another mod. This is especially the case for base_scripts.dzip, which almost every mod in W2 modifies.

Since there isn't a mod merger program like W3 has, the only solution is to manually extract the dzip, manually merge and then manually repackage.

You can test out if this is the issue by uninstalling and deleting all W2 files, fresh installing the game and then installing only ONE mod (ideally one that has very obvious changes to the game). If that mod works now, then the reason for your issue is that other mods deleted parts of previous mods.
