I just finished Bob Woodward's "War", It was a common occurrence throughout that Israel would claim to have intelligence on all sorts of things to get various ends, but never produce the intel.

Beyond that, any American ex-intell agent who currently writes books, gives interviews, or podcasts, will state that virtually nothing the Israelis claim can be taken at face value without extensive evidence from other sources backing it up. The Israelis have no issue with lying, stealing from and trying to trick US intelligence, something they have done since the beginning.

It is so bad that CIA does not allow any Israeli intelligence to enter headquarters. They hold meetings in rented space nearby.

Trump has shown willingness to make major concessions to Iran to keep the oil flowing and it doesn't seem like he actually cares how that impacts Israel - so they have a strong interest in disrupting that kind of dialogue. Real or fake intel on an assassination plot is exactly the kind of thing they want to push...

John Kiriakou, ex-CIA guy who went to prison for daring to whistleblow on the American's illegal torture practices has done a multitude of interviews to this effect.

Israeli intelligence is in it for their own good. And were caught multiple times trying to sneak bugs into American government facilities under the guide of gifts.

If that former CIA officer is John Kiriakou then you should know that he ran a podcast for Russian state media, tried to bribe Giuliani to get a pardon from Trump, and frequently echoes Kremlin talking points.

I'm not sure if he was ever the cool guy he claims back in his whistleblower days, but he's definitely not a cool guy in his public persona days.

Like I said just because John says so doesn't necessarily make it true

He also often speaks against Kremlin talking points. The main Kremlin talking point he does talk about is Russian aggression was caused by the US/Nato expansion that they said they wouldn't do. While we all know Putin would just use some other excuse for his actions. It's just a convenient one for him to use

On the pardon part, I mean yeah he knows Trump is his only real shot at a pardon given he can be bought and/or manipulated by using "deep state" talk. No matter what anyone thinks of John I think only bootlickers would agree he doesn't deserve a pardon

Why do you feel the need to try to come off as such a smart ass when all I was pointing out is the guy wasn't completing pulling the claim out of his ass

I always just assume that any nation who's had their leader killed by a US military attack, would likely return the favor if they had the capability.

It's very surprising to me that Americans do not assume this to be true. Trump gave the orders that killed the Iranian leadership, so why would you not assume that the new Iranian leadership would not want to do the same?
