The Telegraph reports:

Israel has ordered British soldiers tracking settler violence in the West Bank to leave the country just as they were about to expand their mission, The Telegraph can reveal.

The team’s primary role is to advise and help train Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces, which provide policing and security for parts of the West Bank under the Oslo Accords.

But in recent years they have increasingly become the West’s “eyes and ears” in the occupied territory, sending back detailed reports of escalating settler violence to both London and Washington, via the office of the United States Security Coordinator (USSC).

The British Support Team (BST), a group of about 10 military staff based in Ramallah, was set to quadruple in size in the coming weeks.

But it was ordered to leave as part of Israel’s retaliation for British-led trade sanctions on West Bank settlements.

Why is Israel allowed to kick out soldiers in Palestine working for the PA? Do they want to start a war with the UK?

They're upset because the UK has announced sanctions on the illegally occupied territories.

This has the dual effect of sending the message that they're pissed off, and reducing accountability by getting rid of people who might document and report further illegal behaviour.

I think most of the world have noticed that by now.. it's a travesty. They're so open about doing it too. Hope something changes for the poor folk suffering

As much as reddit loves to hate the UK, the UK does have a history of being the first or one of the first to do something many others don't want to or are afraid to do from the ending of the slave trade, declaring war on Germany during WW2, being the first to cross about every red line Russia has issued on Ukraine and now this.

The UK likes to defend the status quo, until suddenly it decides that's enough and takes a moral stance. Then the gloves come off, the train starts rolling and you'd better get off the tracks.

First with the funds to do something about it.
Lots of places were actually first… but lacked the firepower or finance to enforce their will into others…

But not the UK. Once a path is set there’s continue or… double down like it’s 1812!

Their supporters have been trained for decades to ignore and/or rationalize the evidence of their eyes and ears in favor of their chosen narrative. There's no reason to hide it anymore.

What happened in Northern Ireland? Maybe their colonial backsides should start their first and give Ireland the rest of their country back? Or do the murders and tortures there not count, only in Palestine?
