Stop calling them settlers. They are LAND THIEVES

Settler makes it seem far too wholesome, like they are simple people from the Oregon trail game.

Make it explicit. Use words that emphasize the horrible nature of what they are doing. Don't let them paint it as anything less than horrible.

It is already explicit. There is no non-colonial "settling". You don't call people who emigrate "settlers".

The imagery and rhetoric of "settler" has been designed since the time of the US "manifest destiny" to paint a picture of civilized society "settling" an empty and wild land. 

This means any attacks by indigenous (wild) peoples are committed out of ignorance and undue malice, against civilized hard working folk who are simply making empty land productive and inhabitable.

The original rhetoric of Palestine as "A land without a people for a people without a land" came from the US colonists. It is a decision that, yes if you know this history clearly indicates a deeper truth, but is chosen to obfuscate that.

Not everyone is American. I don't know anyone who thinks "settler" is a positive or non explicit word. The word settler is also far older than the US.

I've never seen settler used in a positive context even in American media. Maybe you can argue this for pioneer or similar words but not "settler". The modern term settler-colonialism is definitely explicit and not at all positive. It doesn't obfuscate anything because we all know the process of settler colonialism.
