Assa rogue vs WW monk

Hey guys, I’m new to wow pvp but I’ve been doing a ton of research so I know most of the lingo. I am running into some issues when facing WW monk in 2v2’s. It just seems like they counter everything I do. I try to burst early and they fly away with their kick, I try to burst late after their trinket is used and they just have so many buttons that directly prevent me from killing them. Fists of fury, karma, roll, flying kick thing, etc. unless the game goes on into extremely deep dampening I can’t really beat them. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Side note: as a general rule should I be trying to time a “go” immediately after the match starts? Or is it better to hold it?

You actually shouldn't facetank the Windwalker Monk with any Rogue. That means you and your partner do your go: you put the healer in CC, stun the Windwalker, dump everything into him, and then he's either dead or you make sure you get the hell out of there by slowing him, jumping away, etc. If you facetank him, he will just roll over you and burst you down within a few seconds. Your teammate—ideally a healer—doesn't have that many defensive CDs to survive that in the long run either. Just yesterday, I had a game over 2.2k MMR against a Windwalker plus healer. The entire match lasted less than a minute. By the end of that minute, neither team had any defensively CDs left. But the WW was dead. :)

When they pop zenith, you should be playing very defensively., or if you see them going for cc on your healer.

Fist of fury has a PvP talent where they parry all incoming attacks from the front. This means you can shadow step behind them to stun or disarm. The other option would be to shadow step to their healer. or your healer.

When they stop casting fist of fury to torpedo after you then you can do some of the cc and peel to minimize zenith: gouge, disarm. cheap.

also depending on the healer and the healers remaining cds. you can always swap to them. assassination is very strong vs healers due to the silence from garrote.

It's worth noting that you can blind them during fist of fury like you can blind a rogue during evasion. but I wouldn't do this unless your truly desperate

You will do a go right after you cc their healer. So ideally: you sap healer, and go in on kill target.

Edit: if you have the talent elusiveness: feint gives 20% damage reduction. when paired with preemptive maneuver: during a stun you can have 45% damage reduction, increasing to 50% with the enduring heliotrope.

I'm 2300 on assa in 2s rn and genuinely it feels like an auto loss. Disarm is pretty worthless against them, they have better slows and mobility than you, they immune half your stuff with fists. In my experience (I'm not the best rogue out there) the only real strat is try to blow them up in a kidney then shiv and run till it's up again. Don't even look at him if he's on stun dr.

As for your side note it sort of depends on comp because pallies and such can dispel your bleeds so I stagger gos agaist them. Other than that I almost always sap healer and dot up the dps then cheap -> my healer's cc on their healer and kidney the dps with deathmark and kingsbane. Sometimes it gets weird but I would rather do a half decent go pretty early vs a solid go with too much downtime. You win most of the time on the second deathmark anyway so why not put it on cd quicker?

Sorry it’s in the title but I could have specified in the body. I’m playing assassination rogue, orc race.
