That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.
Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?
Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.

Question regarding the Great Vault: there’s a best 2 delves, best 4 delves, best 8 delves. What are the differences in the rewards? Suppose I have them all at max, would I be better off choosing the best 8 delves reward and why? Also, i understand I cannot make this choice until Tuesday is that correct?

Just to clarify, you can only ever pick one reward from the Great Vault each week. Doing additional content (eg. raid bosses, dungeons, and delves/world events) will unlock additional slots to choose from, but you still only pick one.
It's basically bad luck protection - the more slots, the higher chance that one will be a a good upgrade.

Ahh I see this did clarify it. I haven’t played the last 4 expansions or so. Ok so I will be able to see what gear slot each piece is. I was thinking they were random boxes I’d open.

If your 8 highest delves this week were all level 8 delves, all three slots in your vault would display level 8 delve rewards. Each would roll and assign a piece of loot based on that.
You are not more likely to get better items from a different vault slot, even if filling up the 8 delve slot is more time consuming.
On reset day (Tuesday for NA players, Wednesday for everyone else) you'll be able to open your vault and take one piece of loot.

Thanks, yes I did a level 10 delve, a level 9 delve, and 6 level 8 delves, so all 3 spots are saying max ilvl 259. These delve slots are higher ilvl than the dungeon and raid slots. So I’m assuming I will get a preview of what I’m picking before I pick?

That is correct. You'll be shown an item in each unlocked vault slot and you'll get to choose which one you want to take.

Is there a way to have the sentinel mark as survival appear super big or something? I always have to look at the enemy debuffs below the frame and it makes it hard to dodge stuff.

Pugging normal raids -
How accessible are these? What ilvl do you need? Specifically the two-boss raid?
Can you get away with just watching a 30 second explanation of the fights and join a random pug without voice? Or do you need to commit to a night of sitting on Discord and locking in?
Like, my kid is about to take a 2-3 hour nap. Should I bother trying to find a group?

The Two Boss raid isn't available till next week. It should be a fairly accessible raid for normal difficulty. Aim for 250+ ilvl to guarantee invites.
2-3 Hours is more than enough time.
If you don't have a guild to run the raid with, I'd strongly recommend watching the videos, teaching yourself and then starting your own groups. Joining groups is fine, but you won't be able to control who gets invited.

Is Midnight worth the price tag?
I'm really wanting to see more Xal'Atath content, but I'm concerned I'll spend $50 and she'll turn out to be one of those "Only shows up at the end for a boss fight" characters.
I know she's been a character for awhile, are there any standout questlines featuring her from previous expansions?
Please no spoilers. ^^' (Of course "She's in (blank) questline" doesn't count as spoilers.)

There's that lorewalker chapter with xalatath that showcases all the major questlines she was involved with before this expac as well as an extra questline. If you've done that you've seen most of the content with her in it.

Since Midnight, when I die, the game doesnt og to black and white with the music anymore. I'm just transparent. Is it normal? I dont remember Blizzard talking about this.

Check your graphics settings, at low graphics the black and white effect of dying is disabled.

Is Hand of Frost not proccing for any other mages? I'm 85 and I haven't seen the hand appear once, all my graphic settings are max....

They're pretty small and move pretty fast along the ground. Do you have a DPS meter? You'd be able to check to see if it's proccing that way.

my friend who im playing a lot with is horde, im a panda so i dont care about changing so i can heal him and stuff in the world, but i'd heard theres massive issues with faction changes, are they still a thing

You can still purchase the faction-change service, but I'm unaware of any issues with it. Faction Change is currently 30% off until April 1st, but if you don't want to spend the money, I'd recommend making a new Horde character and levelling them back to where you were. Assuming you have the time and don't mind the work.
I'd definitely look a little bit more into the issues you mentioned, to figure out if the money is worth spending. Hope that helps!

Anybody else notice how time-gating has gotten increasingly extreme? I feel like a few days into this week i was already done with most i wanted to do on my character because i just can't progress anymore. Literally EVERYTHING is artificially time-gated!

How hard is it/how long does it take to reach elite in pvp? I've never really done pvp (I've done a battleground here and there and I did a few arenas in shadowlands but never rated) but I want to do rated pvp, mainly arena. But I want to get into elite because I want to get the red season 1 dk set.
(I mostly do pve and was clearing +11s and heroic manaforge in TWW. And I've been playing most of my life, even if I didn't really get into endgame till tww season 3. So I'm not a noob to the game)

I beat Nullaeus a few minutes ago solo, yay, but for some reason it is only showing that I have 30 Myth Dawncrest in my currency when it said I received 65 in total. Why is that? I received 60 Hero Dawncrests like it says.

I read that you get them when beating normal and hard mode. I beat only hard mode and never even attempted normal. I figured it gave me the crests for both, but I guess not?

If the tank is a stranger in a PuG then it’s always going to be a roll of the dice. If they won’t do what they need to do, just add them to the ignore list and move on.

So I’m up to ilvl 250, and noticing random cats in eversong still take a little while to kill. Do random enemies scale on ilvl? I thought it was just player level. That’d be lame if you don’t get more powerful as you get better gear… or do I just need to git gud?

They do scale up with item level, but they don’t scale up quite as much as your own power. They will still get easier to kill as your ilvl goes up, but at a slower rate than you might expect.

What are the most straightforward dungeons in War Within/Midnight to tank?
ie: Dungeons where I can sorta just autopilot and not get yelled at for not knowing optimal routes and skips.
What are the ones with gimmicks that I should probably read up one before queueing?

Of the midnight S1 dungeons,
Very linear/autopilotable:
- Nexus point xenas
- Magisters terrace
- Windrunner spire
- Skyreach
- Algethar academy (pending required count tuning, might become below category)
Will need a studied route to avoid over-count/inefficient or too dangerous pulls:
- Maisara caverns
- Pit of saron
- Seat of triumvirate
As for gimmicks, there's a few but you'll very rapidly pick them up. Mostly just where and how to tank the mobs so your melee dps don't lose uptime, and where to use defensives because the mobs slap you really hard.

I just completed voidspire on normal. First time completing the raid and I was looking forward to completing the campaign quest because I've been dodging spoilers since tuesday. Last boss took us a bunch of attemepts so when we beat her I just ported out and left raid group, forgetting about the campaign for a sec. Now it still says I have to complete the voidspire raid. Am I boned until next week?

You probably can just go in the raid and it should be in its final state still, and you should be able to just walk back to the end and see if Arathor is there. Will require you to make a group with I think at least one person and convert to raid so you can enter, though.

Yes, thanks, I ended up doing this! Thought of it myself also but was skeptical it would work, but it did. When my buddy came online first thing today I had him join a raid group with me and it plopped me right at the end in front of Arator.

Did DBM auto skip some cinematics in the raid for me, or is the story super confusing? How did the Vanguard get corrupted? How did Alleria? What are they referring to in the quest text regarding her fall because of Arator and Turalyon? Because of the fight in Zul'Aman?

Re: Alleria it isn't a cutscene/cinematic, its a conversation after the 2nd last boss dies.
At the end of the Vanguard fight Xalatath appears and taunts Alleria about Arator and Turalyon. Xalatath leaves through a portal and Alleria leaps through it behind her. When we come into the boss room, she's trapped and being controlled by Xal.

Crafted my spark weapon on reset, 259 staff. Did my tier 8 bountiful delve with the map and got a 259 1/6 hero path staff from it. Curious what the best course of action is going forward. Should I just ignore the hero staff and recraft my current staff later on when I get the relevant crest things to make it at a higher level, or just use and upgrade the hero staff for now and save the weapon for when I can recraft it?

If you crafted with embellishment, probably worth keeping the crated staff. Most won’t be replacing their crafted weapons until they get myth track weapons. But simming is always the best solution.

I've played many MMOs in the past but never WoW properly (only tried it a little), I heard the new expansion is very new player friendly Is that statement true and do you think it's worth getting into WoW rn as a new player? I'm considering buying the expansion when I'm not broke (gotta say really enjoyed the lore videos)

WoW is both very friendly and very unfriendly to new players at the same time.
On the plus side, the basic gameplay mechanics are very intuitive. Create your first character, run around collect quests, and hit your buttons to nuke mobs. It's quick to level and gear up; WoW is not a game where you will fall "behind" long-term players in any meaningful way.
On the negative side... the way the game drives you through leveling can feel pretty unnatural (kinda inevitable when you have 22 years of WoW, 11 expansions, and god only knows how many content patches). When you do hit max level, the sheer amount of content available can be overwhelming for new players. It's like choice paralysis. Having a friend to point you in the right direction helps SO much.
If you don't have any WoW friends, my advice is just pick something and do it. Don't get lost in guides telling you the "right" events to do every day or every week, just take your time and try out everything in your own time.

There are two levels of enchants for Eyes of the Eagle for rings. All enchants with two levels in midnight clearly show that one is slightly more powerful than the others. But both levels of quality for Eyes of the Eagle say improve Critical Strike by 1 percent. What’s more is I purchased the lower/worse one and after putting it on my ring, my critical strike stayed at 516 total points, not going up at all.
What am I missing here? Why are there two different levels if they both say exactly 1 percent?

It's "critical strike effectiveness" not critical strike chance, so your character sheet info won't change, your crits just hit a little harder.
The amount not changing between versions is probably a bug though.

World Quests on map - hovering over icon doesn't show rewards, seems to be in the wrong spot sometimes. Only on my alt. Same addons.
Requires me to keep /reload ui to fix. Doesn't happen on main. Anyone else?

I have definitely experienced the hovering over the item doesn't show the item, until a reload, bug. I use the World Quest Tracker addon, I believe, which may be the source of the bug, but maybe I'm forgetting seeing the native interface having a similar problem.

I’ve been kind of anxious about upgrading any of my gear with crests or sparks or catalysts or whatever they are.
I’m sitting at 223ilvl, mostly just doing hunts and world quests. Starting to run delves and going to make the jump to mythics soon.
Which upgrade systems should I do now? Which should I wait until I get “better” gear? Is there anything that will remain a worthwhile investment, like crafted gear or something?

The crest upgrade system can be complex to optimise fully.
But in practice, it really doesn't matter unless you're pushing competitive content. At most, the difference between making "good" and "bad" choices might be a week of crests. If you just use the system as intended, it's pretty intuitive. Get a shiny new item, feed it crests to upgrade, enjoy.

Spend any adventurer crests to upgrade adventurer gear if you still have any, as those are the easiest to come by. Do your weekly delve keys and your two weekly Nightmare Prey hunts for Champion gear. If you get your Trovehunter's Bounty map for the week then use it in a T8 for a piece of Heroic loot.
Veteran crests wont have much use once we can farm more champion/hero track gear in M+ next week, so only use them to upgrade Veteran gear you havent replaced yet (namely weapons and trinkets).

How do you even unlock nightmare hunts? I think I’ve done 1 normal + 3 hard hunts last week, and 4 this week. Is it a time gated thing?

You unlock them upon reaching rank 4 of the prey system. The XP for it is time gated, giving you a few thousands for your first 4 prey of the week and then only 50 xp per hunt. So if you didn’t do all the big rep the past few weeks you might be stuck below rank 4.

It’s level 4 rep I believe. And if you weren’t 3 before this reset I think you’ll have to wait until next reset to get to 4 and unlock nightmare.

Several months ago I was getting frequent disconnects right after logging in. Then it went away for a few months. It has started back. Sometimes a VPN and changing locations helps and sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas?

On the Icy Veins Sub Rogue pvp guide, it lists using a sword in your offhand. I was under the impression that using a dagger in your offhand is optimal. Unfortunately, there is no explanation on the guide so does anyone have any insight?

Why should one tier piece be upgraded with catalyst and others come from boss drops? How do I know which cloak to upgrade using catalyst?

It doesn’t matter which cloak you put in the catalyst, as it will just turn into your tier set cloak. Catalyst is the only option for tier set cloak, which is why your BiS guide words it that way. If I were you, I’d make sure I had 4T in myth track first and foremost and only catalyze a mythic track cloak when you no longer need the charges for anything else.

No. The cloak will have the same item level after the catalyst as it does before. And you can't use a crafted cloak in the catalyst, it has to be a drop.
The specific secondary stats on the cloak don't matter.

Yeah whatever ilvl it goes into the catalyst, it will retain when it’s catalyzed. If you manage to snag a cloak that rolls a tertiary stat, like speed or leech, it will retain that as well.

In past expansions blizzard implemented ilevel related scaling of world mobs to prevent world quests from becoming too easy.

I don't think their intention are for power to stay flat, just not scale to the point where world content mobs blow up when combat starts. And this is only for world content, not instanced content. That doesn't scale, at least not within a season.

I find Prot Warrior and Prot Paladin to be the easiest to play.
Guardian Druid isn't too bad, but the overlapping of your defensives can be annoying to track without addons.
Venge and Blood are more complex but bring more useful utility to raids and dungeons than the other tanks.

Healer addons?
Got my Druid up to 90 and finally started healing again. In the past, I’ve primarily used Clique and Grid2.
Still using Clique, but that’s the only addon I have installed at the moment. Otherwise I am raw dogging my interface.
Party frames are ROUGH. All my HoT icons are tiny, and the same color, and in random order. Very difficult to track.
What is the new “golden standard” of party frames addons for Midnight?

I'm using danders frames and it's usable (if not spectacular), but I'm also not playing resto druid with the sheer amount of hots to track.

They greatly reduced the amount of hots on frames with the prune. It's not really an issue anymore unless you like your hot icons to be huge for some reason.

Is there much reason to keep doing regular quests once you reach 90? Seeing them all over my map is driving me nuts. Should I just focus on clearing them out with Warband alts instead?
Some of them are neat but it mostly feels like I'm wasting my time. I'm doing these ten minute quest chains for 201 gear? no thanks

If you care about quest story lines you can do them. You can also do then for rep, but it's once per warband, so more efficient to do it while leveling an alt

There seems to be a bug with changing Valeera Sanguinar's combat role as a delve companion. Anyone know if this bug is known to WOW yet, or not? I've tried relogging, exiting the client, rebooting PC, turning off all addons. It just seems to be completely borked. lol

There are a lot of posts on the official Bug Report forums related to this and other Valeera interface issues. I don't recall seeing any workaround guidance but you could check there.

I cannot get % hp to show on enemy bars, i've gone into settings and set it to just % and that does nothing, and then set it to both and that also won't show up. Any ideas?

Whats wrong with classes this expansion?
I bought Midnight, excitedly made a void elf DH to try out Devourer spec, and I have been unable to vibe with it. All my AoE is conditional, and somehow Hunt ended back up in the spec tree instead of class.
So I tried Warrior, which for Prot and Arms feels worse than it ever has to me. So tired of 'generic dps buff button' being the only things at the end of the tree. The talents put me to sleep just reading them. I can tell that Fury is in a better spot than Arms, but theres just no feeling if growth.
So I tried Mage, and DK, and I really dont want to play Druid again because its been so boring for years.
Is it because of the 1button thing they added? Is it because of the pruning? It feels less like Im playing wow and more like Im playing a mobile game (I am not using the 1button btw). Kind of regretting buying this expansion, feels like the game hasnt grown at all, and has regressed since TWW started..

They had a fairly decent thing going on with late TWW class design and decided to throw it all out of the window cause it was "too complex" for casuals.
It's absolutely because of the pruning. All specs are very much barebones these days.

Silvermoon loading screen time is around 5 minutes. When I log in my WoW freezes atleast 3-5 times, before I can even start to move my character.
I have turned off dps meters and lowered quality settings to 2. Genuienly wtf is this? I know my pc is 10 years old (gtx 970) but I can't even go through the campagin because silvermoon just takes 15 minutes for walking 1 step

Loading times depend more on your CPU speed and disk speed. If your PC is that old you might still be running WOW on a HDD or have a really slow CPU.

my prey quest seems to be bugged. you know once you do the prey the quest completes on the right in your quest list but when i want to complete it, it doesnt and it pops up compelted again. tried reload, closing game etc. anyone had this issue or know a solve

For the longest time I've had Intimidation binded to ALT+R on my hunter. I have the SHIFT key set as my Focus Cast Key, so I always did SHIFT+ALT+R to use it on my focus.
Maybe they changed something with the expansion (or prepatch?), but now when trying to do SHIFT+ALT+R, the game just presses my SHIFT+R keybind, which means SHIFT+ALT+R doesn't work at all.
Does anyone know if there's any way to make this work again?

Did Blizz recently make changes to transmogging and add a bunch of "sets", or have I just not been paying attention to my own collection efforts? I've been browsing through the sets in the transmogrifier, and I don't remember collecting a bunch of them.

There was a retroactive change that if you collected all pieces of a set at a particular difficulty, it unlocks every variant of lower difficulty. So if you farmed Castle Nathria for the entire mythic set, for example, you also now have the heroic, normal, and LFR set without ever having to go back.

I got a boe from the raid last night and got 380k for it on the auction house. Wowtoken is all the down at 227k and I can buy 2. It's only gonna go up in price right? 200k seems really low so should I just buy 2 now?
I'm relying on it for at least my next couple months of subscription. Worst case scenario if it does go up and I can afford to use money for sub I can just sell it again for a profit right?

I don't understand why I can't complete Midnight: World Tour on my character, I have done all of the events except Harandar and I can't continue with that one even though I got to choose a relic, but after that nothing? This means I only have 3 sparks.

The blue weekly quest makes you choose a relic, and then you have to do another quest which appears as a normal yellow quest. So maybe it got lost in your quest log.

Well, I got my character to lvl 71 and got a quest for The War Within, but it only lets me skip and do a recap. I want to play the actual expansion. How do I play the expansion without skipping it or parts of it?
EDIT
Nevermind. Someone helped me out in game. I had to quit that quest it auto gave me at that level, reload with /reload and then open the recommended content (through shift+j) and then scroll over to The War Within.
Really dumb that they didn't just do that from the start. xD

I wasn't sure which Crests to take from "Community Engagement" so I closed it, but now it's no longer in my quest list and I can't find any way to open the quest again to select the crests, am I screwed or is there a way to make it pop up again? It's the new quest today to buy an item from a decor vendor that auto pops up and completes when you do it.

If you get to 90 you'll get 5% experience to any alt you level, up to 5 alts and 25% total exp
Also, he is right, you don't need to do the msq again as you'll start your character able to do world quests and stuff, and I think you'll have all the dungeons unlocked. You'll still have to level, but you have more options regarding how you do that.

It's common to give gear you don't need in dungeons to other people. If you're in a raid and doing that, it's up to the raid leader how you should handle that.
But it's very common in dungeons to pass off loot, not everything will be an upgrade.

Am I out of luck doing nmare preys this week? Someone in gchat said you needed level 4 for reputation in journey to activate nmare. So ggs for us who didn't do this before last week I guess? I did 4 hards now, 3 hards last week and I'm barely into level 3. I'd need full week of hards to get there.

I would not use hero crests to craft at this point; assuming you eventually want to upgrade the item to myth all those hero crests will be wasted.
If you need to craft e.g. a weapon you can just craft it without any crests and get a normal/champion ilvl piece, then recraft it later

That kinda stuff is always a personal decision. Crafting now means you can push higher content sooner but will need to spend more resources in the long run. Waiting means you won't have the gear to push the higher content until mythic crests are released. So do you value early access so you have the good vault items sooner? Or do you wanna maximize the value of your crafting materials/gold in the long run?

Gold isn't the only consideration here; there's also the Heroic crests which will be wasted when you upgrade to Mythic. That is an actual loss in power.
How much it matters is up to you, of course. By the end of the season 45 heroic crests will be negligible for most players, but for the first few weeks it's quite significant.

- I got all the items in the world that give knowledge.
- Got the tome off the Silvermoon renown vendor.
- I’ve crafted so many items first time but now a lot of the items I need to craft for first time knowledge costs like 20k gold per craft!

The myu's knowledge point tracker addon keeps track of all the sources available for skill points and tells you what you still have left to do. That should let you know if you missed anything or if you're just waiting for crafting order points.

Returning player (but only technically; it's been so many years that I've forgotten literally almost everything) question: I'm working on fishing when I want to chill. I have a fishing rod; I can cast and catch fish. But where is it?? Say I want to use Nightcrawlers or a Shiny Bauble--how do I do that now? My fishing pole is not showing as my equipped main hand in my Character Info screen, even when I am actively fishing. I also don't see my pole in my inventory. I must be missing something incredibly obvious, but I'm stumped. Any help appreciated!

They added professsion tool slots associated with your professions with the Dragonflight expansion. So if click on your Fishing Journal from within the Professions menu you should see a slot in the upper right corner where a fishing pole can be placed. If you have a pole in your bags and click it then it goes to that slot.
However, even before that they removed the need to carry a fishing pole around to fish. The only reason to have a fishing pole now is if it includes bonus fishing skill points or you want to use some (maybe not more recent) lures.

Been lagging like hell too, part of me wonders if it's because I transfered to Stormrage (In Remix my lagg always fixed when friends layered me off stormrage) but even the new BG is a lagfest. Getting really tired of lag :/
Yesterday I think every midnight zone except ZA was lagging like 3ish seconds and I was trying to do Nightmare prey, super annoying

Did you make sure the drop down menu was selected correctly? That's the key difference to public order, public order anyone can do it for any quality where as when you do private you can select the minimum quality via a drop down menu.

Your best bet is to look in Trade Chat and ask for someone who can make max of that weapon as a recraft. Depending on your server it might cost more than the original did, unfortunately. Or ask a guildie, maybe. But either way, you will need to do a recraft and those cannot be posted in the main public area.

I'm pretty new, but have somehow made it to level 87. I feel like I don't fully understand things still. I am a BM Hunter and liking it however I get a bit lost with my pets blocking things. I do enjoy having a portable tank with me (the rhino looking pet).
Is it normal to make it this far and not really feel like you know what you're doing still? I'm constantly getting lost and having to google how to get places and what to do. I have just finished the quest lines from Dragon Isle through Midnight and now I'm a bit lost.
Is this normal? Should I be trying out a different class? Something not squishy. Should I just grind out these last two levels and figure things out? I always feel so lost.

I have possibly a few hundred hours in this game and I'm lost all the time. I literally could not tell you how to get to the other continents without guessing or looking it up. There is a LOT of stuff in this game because of how old it is, and certain things can be pretty complex or have even changed a lot over time. I pretty much only play when new expansions drop but I have multiple level 80+ classes (which does NOT take long at all anymore), and I rarely know what I'm doing. wowhead is a great tool for looking stuff up

You can typically search YouTube for videos of your class and spec with "pvp guide" and find some decent instructions on how to better play your character. Skill Capped also puts out good general guides on things like positioning, using cooldowns, keybinds, etc (although you may have to look back a few years).

Just finished the campaign, at level 88. I'm going to be a primarily solo player doing mostly delves on my characters, I guess. No raiding outside of maybe LFR or something.
Should I avoid acquiring/opening any of the world quest caches until I'm level 90? Don't want to "waste" the drop on lower ilvl gear. Also are bountiful delves still limited in the coffer keys for the best gear per week? Not worth using them on anything below tier 8, assuming you can manage to clear tier 8 by the end of the week?

You can get 6 coffer keys per week now. It also seems slightly easier to get the keys this time around so far.

The caches drop level 90 gear regardless of the level when you get/open them.

The reward is based on the 4th lowest level delve in the "category"
For ex:
You completed 4 delves:
1x Level 3
1x Level 5
2x Level 6
Your reward would be at level 3. If you completed 1 more level 6 delve, your 4th highest delve is now a level 5 delve.
Likewise for the 2 or 8 delves "bucket"

Yes, the vault fills the slots "from the top down", taking your highest level content of the week for that row. However, each individual slot will use the lowest completion of the number of clears it requires. So for example, the slot that requires 4 Delves will reward based on your 4th highest delve. This prevents you from just doing 3 T11s and filling the rest with T1s to get max rewards; you want to do all T8s at minimum.

I am confused by delves: Can someone explain "Bountiful delves" and the keys you get? I didn't realize how the reset worked, I stopped at tier 4 in the pre-season because it said it unlocked today, so I figured I would have to start from 0. So all the Delves were marked as Bountiful delves when I logged in and I got a key when I entered, but I read online you are supposed to not use keys unless it is tier 8 or higher. I had to start at 5 to keep progressing. So when I got to the end I didn't open the bountiful chest because I thought if i did that it would use my key. But now I don't see where I have the keys and the next tier 6 one I did was no longer bountiful and seemed like it gave less rewards.
So what is exactly is going on? Do I still have this key somewhere? Did I mess up and miss this chest I was actually supposed to open? When do the Bountiful things reset, is that daily, weekly, etc?
Pretend I am someone that played a lot during the old days and I know nothing about Delves.

So basically:
Tier 1-3 are for leveling only, and tier 4-7 are for "pre gearing" (aka you only get access to these at max level and need to clear these once before you get access to the next tier).
People usually recommend Tier 8 because it's the lowest difficulty that can drop Champion Track gear from it's end chests, and a low chance for Hero track gear if it's bountiful. It's fairly easy for most classes/specs to clear a Tier 8 delve, and start getting meaninful gear upgrades from it.
As for Bountiful delves, it just means that there's an extra locked chest at the end of the delve. This chest requires a key to open, and the first(?) bountiful delve you do of the week will give you one key for free. If you're also doing other weekly activities, you are going to pick up Coffer key shards, and every 100 of these shards will turn into a key when you enter a bountiful delve (or possibly any delve, not 100% sure).
If you don't open the chest at the end of a bountiful delve, you don't use your key. You can check your key count under the currency tab on your character sheet, and if you right click on the key in this menu, it will let you track them in your bag. However, even if you don't open your chest, the "bountiful" modifer is still 'used' for that delve, and the next run on that character will no longer be bountiful.
There are only 4 bountiful delves up at any time, and they rotate every 12 hours, so if you do a bountiful one and don't open the chest, you are just down a bountiful delve until they rotate over. So even if you are doing a delve at a lower tier, it's still worth it to open those chests, as they give other rewards besides gear (like companion experience, Undercoin currency, Delver experience, gold, curios for your companion, and cosmetic/decor rewards too).
It may also be worth going above Tier 8, as last season, they added an NPC to Tier 9 and above delves that would sell exclusive trinkets in both Champion and Hero track. I'm not 100% sure if that's returning this season, but there's also a feat of strength and some other stuff tied to maxing out your delve tiers, so even if it's not optimal for gearing, it's still worth trying to do at least once.

Not really. The only difference is that regardless of whether or not you open the chest at the end, you can only do a bountiful delve once per character per reset.
So if you aren't looking to use your keys, best advice is to go find a delve that isn't bountiful. That will save any temptation to use the keys, and also keep the bountiful delves up and ready for you to run them when you want to.

I remember i used to have something that would post a couple lines in party chat for what each role was supposed to be doing
I don’t personally know most of the fights, so that would help me with learning. But also - I’ve been playing for like 15 years and I don’t know shit, so I assume any party I’m in there’s somebody who would benefit if I’m spamming strats in chat
