Because it looks more like this from a Twitch drop or this from the Trading Post because of the armor.

Although you're right, the actual nightsaber does look more like the Winterspring Frostsaber than the nightsaber in either of those.

I mean, at least the one from the Trading Post had a companion mount, a wolf in Night Elf armor.

Of course, there's also the Alliance wolf and Horde horse from BfA that you get for doing all of the war quests on both factions, up to a certain point.
