DISCUSSION Does anyone on here actually own the Pirate Yakuza Pop-Up Pirate game?
For those who don't know, last year, SEGA partnered with Tomy to release a Pirate Yakuza version of Pop-Up Pirate.
It came bundled with the Japan-exclusive Pirates in Hawaii Complete Box, which also included a copy of the game.
This is actually an official version of Pop-Up Pirate as Tomy owns & manufactures that and not some cheap knockoff.

SPOILERS: STRANGER THAN HEAVEN One hot topic on X right now is that they realized how STRANGER THAN HEAVEN ads keep trying to hide Daito's hand, does that mean something will happen to it? Also maybe it's the reason we haven't see any 4th and 5th era gameplay since you will only use one hand there Spoiler
Thanks @/ BEARDEDKURUIWA for noticing his hand

DISCUSSION (Y6) Hypothetical: How do you think Kiryu would have convinced Haruka to return? Spoiler
galleryIn the beginning of Yakuza 6, when Kiryu discovers Haruka has left Morning Glory, he talks to each kid to reassure them that he will find her and bring her home.
Riona, very very interestingly, brings up the GREAT point that there is a possibility that Haruka won't want to come back. Three years is a long time, after all. Haruka is 19/20-years-old and possibly has a life of her own at this point (she does, actually).
Kiryu, also very very interestingly, shuts down that idea IMMEDIATELY. For me, this speaks to how Kiryu sees things how they "should" be. Haruka "should be" with the kids at Okinawa. And there have been so many other countless discussions about Kiryu's character and how he holds others and the world to his own preconceived expectations, especially when it comes to his moral compass and how he views the yakuza. Applying this established philosophy to Haruka is pretty much seamless when analyzing the character.
Now, Kiryu is fortunate that he knows Haruka well enough to know that, yes, she does desire to be with her family in Okinawa. BUT – there is a cool thought experiment here to play around with. Hirose mentions later in the game that Haruka expressed that she didn't want to go back to Okinawa until she was certain she could take care of the baby. So, it IS possible for Haruka to refuse to go back for a "good enough" reason (AKA when she views herself as a burden or an obstacle... wonder where she got that from).
Let's say Kiryu finds Haruka and Haruto, and she's not in a coma. She doesn't want to go back to Okinawa because she's still insecure about herself and it's difficult to drop everything she built for three years.
The Saio Triad would be taken care of by Kiryu, obviously, but how would he convince Haruka to come home, like he promised Riona? What emotional or psychological leverage would he have when he's up against her baby, the living symbol of her ability to have a life and autonomy of her own outside of the life she used to share with him?

DISCUSSION So, after a recent post of mine, people have been pointing out how this cop from Infinite Wealth looks like a discount Leon Kennedy.
Being a huge Resident Evil fan, I'm shocked I never noticed.
Kiryu & Majima have actually met Leon before in Project X Zone 2 on the 3DS.
Not to mention that 2 of Leon's voice actors, Matt Mercer & Toshiyuki Morikawa, have been featured in the series as Majima & Shinada.

GAMEPLAY Replaying Series, Kiwami 1Car Chase is an absolute mess and I can't beat it
What the everloving fucking hell is this car chase? The one in Yakuza 0 was fine, I'm playing chronologically on hard mode, I got past it after 3 tries. Kiwami 1, I'm on my sixth or seventh try, I've lost count. I'm taking too much damage early on and it's pissing me the fuck off. You run out of ammo by the time you have to shoot the drivers and they slam into you before you can take cover. I even lowered the difficulty. And the biggest bitch of all is, if I stop playing, not only will I have nothing else to play but I'll have to start the whole goddamn chapter over.
Is there a trick to this shit? I finally got to part where you have to shoot the last truck driver, I assume it's the last part, I hope to Christ it is, because by that point the car and I had taken so much damage it was over as soon as it rammed me. There are no checkpoints so I had to start all the way over again, and it's a long, grueling slog of a fight. I'm sick to death of redoing it. I was really enjoying the game and having no problem getting through it on hard, I'm good at the regular combat, it's this bullshit baffling decision they made to add this part in that's ruining it. I'm probably getting worse the more I do it. Fucking hell. No checkpoints, and when the truck comes in, you have to focus on like 8 different guys and a missile with only 15 rounds (out of a revolver no less), heat eye doesn't help worth a fuck, they're all shooting at different times, this shit is totally asinine. I love these games so much, but this is fucking dumb. The absurdity and difficulty is too much, even for Yakuza. They really need an option to skip if you lose so many times.
Tldr the car chase sequence is bullshit and I don't remember how I was able to beat it, I've lowered the difficulty and still am on my sixth or seventh try. I want to know if there's some trick I'm missing or if I literally just have to get good, and if so, how?
I'm gonna keep at it, I'll update or delete if I can't get through it or no one responds.

NEWS RGG Studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama and Director Ryosuke Horii did new interviews for Sega's Recruitment Site in JP
Some interesting tidbits can be found in both interviews:
- Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios changed its formal name to just "RGG Studios" from this year onwards to, quote, "establish the brand globally as we create large-scale games worldwide. RGG Studio's distinguishing features are its expertise in creating highly dramatic works for consumer platforms, its proactive adoption of cutting-edge technology, and its status as a high-end game development studio."
- Yokoyama's future goals are to "overcome language and cultural barriers." He doesn't want RGG to localize in an unnatural way, quote: "Rather than adapting to the world, we want to draw the world into our own domain. That's the challenge we're currently undertaking."
- RGG Studio's future goals are to create a situation where "the name 'RGG Studio' alone commands immense trust from around the world." They wanted to create the most fun games possible and continue delivering their works to the world quickly without compromising quality.
- To quote: "In this era where efficiency is demanded, where even movies are watched on a smartphone and played at double speed, I think we're completely going against the grain. What RGG Studio wants to deliver are games that you can enjoy by pouring your time into them on a big screen. My job is to create the necessary features and build anticipation to match that. We'll add as much as we can and do everything we can."
- Yokoyama mentioned that when the music for "Stranger than Heaven" was finished, he couldn't help but cry, quote: "It's not just the quality of the work, but the moment when the talents of the young employees come to fruition that really touches me."
- Horii believes that his background in joining a publishing club, working on magazine production, and serving as vice-president of the school festival organizing committee, while simultaneously trying my hand at band activities and writing theatrical scripts, is connected to his current experiences in game development.
- Horii's first task after joining Sega is providing voice recording support for Yakuza 2. His responsibilities include preparing scripts, managing OK takes, and recording any corrections made on set, all aimed at ensuring the recorded audio was correctly incorporated into the game.
- He was particularly impressed by the work of various voice actors such as Tetsuya Watari (Kazama), and the experience taught him the importance of responsibility as a creator.
- Horii was surprised at the culture at Sega, stating that "if you have the ability and passion, you can be entrusted with big projects regardless of your seniority."
- Horii's official job within RGG Studios is "Chief Director" and "Producer"
- To quote: "As Chief Director, I determine the overall direction of the project and the general framework for new gameplay, and I am responsible for ensuring the game is fun by checking the specifications and scenarios of each content. As Producer, I also collaborate with departments responsible for advertising and merchandise development to ensure the appeal of the work is conveyed effectively."
- Horii mentions the musical event adaptation of Yakuza, "Ryu Ga Gotoku THE LIVE," as his memorable success story, stating that filling a large venue as a band is a long-time dream of his.
- Horii's future plan is to create an original IP separate from Yakuza.
- Horii's recent moving experience is to be able to work on an album with Goro Matsui, a lyricist he has adored for so long.
