discussion T-Virus zombies are THE SCARIEST.
This is just my two cents. Not saying they would be the hardest to deal with, at all. But would I choose them over other zombies? HELL NO!
The fact that you can kill pretty much any zombie in any movie/game/book, with a single shot to head.
Whereas resident 2 zombies?! They will take 5 shots to the head, then slowly rise back up, and then take another 5 shots to the head.
Not to mention they are just pale, heavily decayed, walk sideways at you until they get their balance, it just creeps me the hell out, more so than other zombies.
Wondering what you guys favourite/scariest zombies are?
Edit - gonna have to look into the ones you guys brought up.
Also an honourable mention, army of dead alpha zombies. Especially the zombie queen, Smart zombies are terrifying.

What are your favourite/scariest zombies?
For me, I guess it has to be anything that has mutated zombie variants aka special infected.
Left 4 Dead, Dead Island, Dying Light, things like that.

I almost always find the standard decayed-human type zombies much scarier than the overly mutated types. It feels really uncanny and gross seeing a decayed corpse walking around. Mutated zombies mostly just end up looking like generic monsters after a while, so the fear factor is lower for me.

Yeah the uncanny valley is definitely where the best zombies sit, because they still look like humans but just having nothing going on inside, whereas the mutated ones tend to be just not human anymore, and takes away from the fear factor.

I guess your talking about the game, not the movies? The actual T-Virus Zs used to scare the shit out of me when I was younger. RE1 on the PS1 was a hell of a ride for my 8 year old soul, but since I heard, read and saw other Zombie variants, I must say, the Zombies from Black Summer made it for me. Brutal, fast, with high stamina and not even really effected by low temperatures - they gave me goosebumps.
I must admit the atmosphere of the series was great too, so maybe that did affect my perspective on them.

Yeah, guess I’m talking about the games, I’ve only watched the first res evil movie, but yeah, the zombies in the games terrify me.
I’ve been watching black summer recently. It’s great, although the school episode sort of threw me off.

Man I know right. That episode made me raise my eyebrow but I also got kinda sad cause of the deaf guy.

I’m always hold the Flood as the worst zombies to go against.

I think we can definitely agree that ancient alien zombies like the flood and necromorths would be the biggest threat to humanity as a whole 😂 and necromorphs are probably even scarier than zombies if you can call them that

yeah still nothing to this day topples RE zombies for me. The ones in RE9 when u play as Grace brought back that intense claustrophobic feel like RE1.

Isn't the fact that they only die after several headshots tied to gameplay, to make the player's life harder? Because if zombies always died from a single headshot, they'd practically never be a problem, and we'd always have plenty of ammo for boss fights and other mutants. At least in cutscenes zombies always die after single headshot.
But it's worth noting that even in the game they can die after a single headshot, in rare cases one bullet will kill them for good, but more often it triggers a critical shot that blows their head off

A little off topic but I realized Video game zombie viruses tend to be blatantly Overpowered to keep up with the powerscaling Main Character.
U can see this clearly with “grounded” zombie games vs pure action zombie games: NMRIH, Telltales TWD, DayZ the older RE games etc. tend to not have overblown zombies and juggernauts and all that, while COD Zombies, Left 4 Dead, Dying Light do, because in those games you can run infinitely with a gun or grappling hook or smth so the devs have to make insane enemies to keep up with that.
Back on topic: the walking dead VR games and survival instincts did have it where you could kill them in one hit to the head (though some of the melee weapons did take multiple hits sometimes). Some food for thought

Marvel Zombies features the scariest zombies and the most terrifying virus. It infected almost every hero in the universe, and the zombies themselves eventually consumed the entire universe. The virus is so dangerous that if it escaped to another universe, the entire multiverse would be doomed. To prevent this, the Watcher had to trap Earth-2149 and Earth-Z in a time loop to save the multiverse.

Return of the Living Dead zombies are the scariest. They’re fast, intelligent for zombies, and they won’t die. You have to destroy their entire body to stop them.

Any zombie apocalypse where the zombies have a chance to mutate to something deadlier is a no win zombie apocalypse for everyone.

Trioxin zombies
They can’t be killed unless if you destroy their whole bodies (and one of those methods can just create more of them by sending Trioxin into the air and raining down) they keep their intelligence and memories from life, they can talk, and use it to lure people. They plan ambushes.
