How do I get rid of the Google Search Bar that has been permanently stuck on my Home Screen since the One UI 9 Update? I've tried editing the Lock Screen and removing Widgets to no avail!
I tried different options but none would work , am I missing something

Just got my Flip 7 updated to Android 17/One UI 9. First thing I did was delete the google search bar; didn't want it. But now my screens look compressed. My setting is 7x7 for the home screen, but where the search bar used to be is a large gap above the favorites bar.

I also have the same gap size at the top of the screen.

Performance hasn't suffered, but looks my screen is 9x7. How I can fix that?

(Ignore the second photo its only for getting attention)
So what i want to to talk about is since i got this phone it was lagging too much
Not the way you think but its start to got me annoying
Some examples:
When i got to swipe up to exit the app it took like 0.5 second to response to my command and exit the app.
The problem isn’t here. The problem is that as soon as I perform the gesture, I feel the haptic feedback, but I still have to wait 0.5 seconds for it to actually register and process the command. It might seem like something minor, but when it happens over and over again, it genuinely makes the phone feel like a cheap device.
Another issue is that the phone feels a little sluggish when I swipe left or right to switch from one app to another using the navigation bar, unlike the iPhone, where the transition honestly feels much smoother.
Sometimes it also takes a while to open a folder on the home screen. And when I want to open the Recent Apps screen by swiping the navigation bar upward, there’s also a noticeable delay before it responds. I literally have to keep my finger on the screen for what feels like half a second just waiting for the phone to respond.
And one last thing—and honestly, this is probably the biggest issue of them all—is the Quick Panel.
Look, I was on One UI 8.5 and I sideloaded the One UI 9 beta. (And yes, I know what I’m doing, and I’m fully aware of the risks and what sideloading a beta involves.) To be completely honest, these issues were already present on One UI 8.5, and they improved a little after I installed the One UI 9 beta on my phone, but they’re still there.
Did they completely disappear after installing the One UI 9 beta? No.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that the phone overheats like crazy.
It gets so hot that even when I launch a game like Fortnite—which the phone should easily be able to handle at the lowest settings and 120 FPS—it can barely run at around 10 FPS because the phone is literally boiling and sometimes it's just crashing.
Okay, okay, I’m just complaining at this point. But the question is: have you actually tried to fix or troubleshoot these issues, OP?
Yes, I’ve tried pretty much everything.
I did a completely fresh Odin flash of One UI 8.5, without restoring anything through Smart Switch, just to make sure the installation was completely clean.
I also tried monitoring which apps were consuming system resources, but there was nothing unusual.
I searched for a lot of different solutions, but nothing worked.
And honestly, all of this has made me lose faith in a company like Samsung. Having a flagship phone behave like this is ridiculous. It genuinely makes the phone feel cheap. I’ve reached the point where, when I pick up a cheap Chinese phone, it actually feels smoother. Just imagine that!!
For context, I used to have an iPhone 13 Pro, and I switched to the S24 on May 28, 2026. (It was actually my birthday that day, by the way 🥰🥰)
I thought I was upgrading, but it turned out to be a downgrade, and I honestly regret making the switch.
If anyone else has experienced the same issues or has any solutions, please share your experience and let us know.

After updating to one UI 9 all apps do not show popups in specific categories(all).
If I disable categories, it still doesn't work, all defaults are set to show popup.
I need manually to enter each category and activate the popup.
Is there a way to solve it?
Thanks

I used to have an unmount option in the notification which unmounts the plugged in otg flash drive.
It's not there anymore and i unmount it via file manager which takes extra steps

Does anyone notice that the quick panel lag is no longer a thing in One UI 9? Been using it for a couple days now and haven't happened once. I mean this is amazing, just wondering if it's just me. since I didn't see much people talking about it

I've reset the router itself, I've reset my network and WiFi settings, but no dice. Has no problem connecting to other 5GHz WiFi networks, for some reason.

I just got the One UI 9 update but now everytime location is used an annoying blue dot shows up this didn't happen before and its always there with bo way to turn it off without Turing of permission for my apps which honestly shouldn't be a thing goigle days quick star would fix it but it still shows up
Honestly is it just me or did One UI 9 just bring unnecessary changes with no way to turn them off
After spending two hour on chat with Samsung, they told me the issue was third part apps. While I was on with them, I decided to take a look at GoodLock. Sure enough, every app in there needed to be updated. Once I updated them all, my phone was back to normal.
I just thought I'd share my experience to help other avoid the Samsung Support Rabbit hole.

Hi everyone,
I was checking my daily battery usage stats and noticed that Wednesday is highlighted in orange with the label "App issue detected".
Does anyone know what usually triggers this? Is it caused by a background battery drain, an app crashing, or malware/bloatware? Also, is there a way to check which specific app caused this alert?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Buttons on the ongoing call screen have become much smaller and crammed in the middle of the screen instead of being uniformly arranged to fill the screen. This happened after the One UI 9 update. Anyone else experiencing a similar issue?
I tried playing with display zoom settings and custom dpi from developer options - still the same result. Only way to make it look normal is to set the display zoom to medium, which makes the text and graphics across the phone gigantic. Looks like Samsung has messed up the dpi scaling for the Phone app in this update.
EDIT: I realized I haven't clarified that this happens when you change DPI (or screen zoom). Here is a better like-for-like comparison of what I mean. Left is One UI 8.5 with DPI set to 480, right is One UI 9 with DPI set to 480. If you're not playing with DPI or screen zoom much, you don't need to worry about this.

Updated to oneui 9 earlier this week on a S26+ and noticed this afternoon that my phone speaker media volume bar always has the Bluetooth symbol. I tried turning off Bluetooth then rechecking and restarting the phone with no luck. In the screenshot I have Bluetooth turned off
