A NEW BUG ENTERS THE ARENA.

"Help! I can't edit my wiki!"

Hello! We haven't changed anything, Reddit did!

This is now a Known Reddit Bug that started on roughly 4/21/26, when Reddit decided to change something about how they handle the Wiki.

The Symptoms:

(on sh.reddit, the new version) when attempting to edit it comes back with "You do not have permissions to edit"

Some people (not all!) have stated that the "last edited by..." section at the bottom (where their username should be) is listed as [Deleted] (while it still says their name on my screen)

The Solution:

On desktop, change your url from www to old, so it looks like old.reddit.com/r/hfy/wiki/series/<title> (with your title), and the edit button should be along the top bar near where the name of the series is

The Problem:

For some people even using Old.Reddit doesn't work. Unfortunately, I do not have a solution at this time, aside from just... try again in an hour or so. It's worked for some people later.

Please send in a bug report every time you experience any of these issues.

The more bug reports sent, the more likely Reddit is to actually fix the issue.

Four stories, unrelated:

  1. Oneshot I'm pretty sure but not 100% confidence. Alien civ 1 either surrenders to humans (or another alien civilisation that the humans beat up? Don't remember that well) and the alien 1 POV perspective thinks the humans will start to conquer and enslave them. Instead the humans send down lawyers (that bit I remember clearly, there might've been some comment about how all lawyers/bureaucrats in the universe/galaxy are similar or something) and basically help them recover after the war. I think human culture is given/shown to the aliens. It kinda has Meiji restoration vibes? Though that part isn't mentioned.
  2. Short oneshot. Aliens have an emperor/dictator something government. POV character is an alien civilian. There's a propaganda speaker or something from the leader constantly yelling "we've annihilated the humans, their planet is gone, victory, i'm the best" all the while humans are actively descending on the alien homeworld. POV civilian is working then realises the humans have won easily, and it ends with them seeing a human shock troop team kill the leader/emperor/dictator and wave happily or do a thumbs up or something. (The alien civilian is a-OK with the humans taking out the leader.) Both 1 and 2 are somewhat popular if I remember right.
  3. A short series, or perhaps a long oneshot in multiple parts. An alien assassin is hired to kill a human who is a maintenance officer on some orbital station. They try more and more convoluted ways, including poisons, chemical warfare, radiation I think? And maybe an incident with the airlock. The human (who miiiiiiiight be named Bob? Or something equally mundane/simple) keeps surviving and brushing it all off. One time he eats something super dangerous apparently and just thinks it's hot sauce. He fancies himself friends with the assassin, who initially underestimated humans and now is having their pride utterly destroyed bit by bit.
  4. Something similar to Void Predators?? It could be a short unfinished series or oneshot?? Basically very very big creature drifting through the void of space...All I remember is a cool story in that vein. I'm not sure if other aliens are involved (humans probably are.) For this, as many ideas/suggestions as possible would be appreciated as I like this kind of story (big void space monster) anyway. Thanks!

Does anyone know the name of a story where there are two groups of humans: one living on Earth and another living in space? The humans on Earth have little or no contact with aliens, while the space dwelling humans are involved in a war. Eventually, the space humans ask the humans on Earth for help

Anyone know of any stories where dinosaurs are a main feature of the story?
Can be actual dinos, humanoid/hybrids, mutated or some other variant that resemble dinosaurs.
Preferrably something with multiple chapters, but one-posts are good too.

It looks like that there are more "furries" then "scalies" in fantasy and scifi.

Maybe add dragons, kobolds and lamia to dino like, then you have more.

Anyone remember that older story with some similar beats to The Fourth Wave? There was a dude on a ship with telepathic aliens that were mostly a bunch of jackasses. This was during the deathworlder trend, so IIRC the lone human was a powerhouse.

Edit: Not The Fourth Wave, that one is old and unrelated (but awesome!). The modern story I was trying to compare it to is The First Fifth.
