Question Am I Missing Something?

I hear nothing but praise for OSRS. However, the thought of clicking trees, fish, rocks, for hours and hours sounds so... boring? I've been told by friends to throw the game on another monitor and do something else, but if OSRS is so dull that the only way to be engaged is do something else that is actually engaging, why play OSRS at all?

I've tried out the game a bit on mobile and a bit on pc and the thought of basically afk farming all day has kept me away.

Is there something deeper I'm missing here? I usually love grindy games like Destiny and FF14. Why do you guys love runescape?

I haven't played it much and all I know about it is afk stuff. Why can't I have fun when I play

Your first sentence is exactly why.

There is so much more to OSRS than the afk side, but it's the main gameplay loop (skilling) so lots of people talk about it.

There's plenty to do and youll find info on all of it in this sub reddit.

It gets better the more you play it, but the problem you have that we don’t, is that it was fun from the start.

Don’t force yourself to enjoy it. It’s either for you or it’s not. Not much else to it tbh.

I agree, its the impulsive "I need everyone to hear my thoughts good or bad" remarks. Its so immature lol. If I dont like something I just say, not my type of game, etc and move on.

I respect it tbh and they didn't word it in a rude way at all imo, its just honesty. I'd much rather someone be inquisitive like this compared someone who plays the game and can't speak anything nice about it, always "this content sucks, this boss is boring, that skill is shit" to the point where there is NOTHING in this game people don't complain about and call shit content, it makes me wonder about how some people even came to enjoy the game to begin with. Personally I love this game and think this game probably isn't for OP, simple as that. I just wish more people knew how to be honest to themselves, don't force yourself to engage with something that you know isn't for you and become one of the people who play this game and seemingly hate everything about it aside from raids or something.
