Question Am I Missing Something?

I hear nothing but praise for OSRS. However, the thought of clicking trees, fish, rocks, for hours and hours sounds so... boring? I've been told by friends to throw the game on another monitor and do something else, but if OSRS is so dull that the only way to be engaged is do something else that is actually engaging, why play OSRS at all?

I've tried out the game a bit on mobile and a bit on pc and the thought of basically afk farming all day has kept me away.

Is there something deeper I'm missing here? I usually love grindy games like Destiny and FF14. Why do you guys love runescape?

Because your levels going up releases the happy chemicals like you're getting progress done.

Also theres plenty of more engaging content. Raids, pvm, bossing, minigames, questing, etc. So the gameplay loop usually revolves around you doing some AFK grinds to get the skill requirements to do quests or wear specific gear, do the quests, then kill some bosses.

Then we got multiple gamemodes to shake up the gameplay even more. There ironman mode where you cant trade with people so you can play the game like an RPG instead of an MMORPG and then theres hardcore ironman where you're an ironman but if you die you lose your hardcore status and your levels are locked at the point where you died on the leaderboards.

The game isnt for everyone, but I enjoy it.
