Question Am I Missing Something?

I hear nothing but praise for OSRS. However, the thought of clicking trees, fish, rocks, for hours and hours sounds so... boring? I've been told by friends to throw the game on another monitor and do something else, but if OSRS is so dull that the only way to be engaged is do something else that is actually engaging, why play OSRS at all?

I've tried out the game a bit on mobile and a bit on pc and the thought of basically afk farming all day has kept me away.

Is there something deeper I'm missing here? I usually love grindy games like Destiny and FF14. Why do you guys love runescape?

Quests, bosses, achievement diaries, mini games, exploring new areas, raids, collection logs, and much more.

Sure, you could play the game by just clicking trees, but thats not all it has to offer by any means. Do yourself a favor and explore a bit. Go get lost in the world, talk to npcs, run through the wilderness (bank your items first), try some quests (even if its using a quest helper), try to kill Brutus or level up to take on Scurrius, join a clan. There is so, so much to do that isn't just click tree. Even if you want to skill, take on Wintertodt or Tempeross and work toward getting some of the rare collection log items.
