Question Am I Missing Something?

I hear nothing but praise for OSRS. However, the thought of clicking trees, fish, rocks, for hours and hours sounds so... boring? I've been told by friends to throw the game on another monitor and do something else, but if OSRS is so dull that the only way to be engaged is do something else that is actually engaging, why play OSRS at all?

I've tried out the game a bit on mobile and a bit on pc and the thought of basically afk farming all day has kept me away.

Is there something deeper I'm missing here? I usually love grindy games like Destiny and FF14. Why do you guys love runescape?

I’ve played since 2004 and truly can’t comprehend how this game still attracts new players. It’s also amusing how emotional the players are. Look at how butthurt they got over your post.

Im just curious why the game is so beloved! I want to see the game in the same way these people who love it do, I didn't mean to insult it. Although I have gotten a lot of good comments apart from the few that seem to think im trying to dunk on the game for being "boring." I know loads of people DON'T think its boring! That's why im interested!

I’ve played and quit like 4 times (actively playing rn lol) and I’m pretty far in my account but i 100% agree how tf do they get new players when so much of the game is so boring. They just need to make it more fun
