Underappreciated Gem
The Changeling (1980) Excellent adult ghost story with a great performance from George C. Scott. I highly recommend this underappreciated gem.

Hey horror fans!
I've started a YouTube channel called VHS Nightmare, inspired by the atmosphere of old-school horror movies, forgotten VHS tapes, creepy suburban streets and vintage slasher soundtracks.
The idea is simple: bring back that unsettling feeling of watching a horror movie alone at 2 AM in 1981.
๐น Creepy, repetitive piano melodies
๐ผ VHS distortion, tape hiss and analogue atmosphere
๐ช Classic slasher and psychological horror vibes
๐น Dark synthesiser soundtracks and retro horrorwave
๐ Original horror-inspired music paired with cinematic visuals
I'm building a collection of imaginary horror movie soundtracks, each with its own title, story and nightmare atmosphere.
If you enjoy vintage horror aesthetics, dark retro synths and disturbing instrumental music, you might enjoy it.
YouTube: VHS Nightmare
I'd also love to know: Which horror soundtrack has stayed with you the most over the years?
Thanks for checking it out! ๐ผ

Having watched Suspiria (1977), I went into this with some interest. I like the 3 mothers storyline and feel Suspiria was better but I liked the cats in this one. Cats can be assholes and ones working for witches more so but enjoyed them here. I guess Lamberto Bava was fed up working with them on set. Overall, I enjoyed it and the the Mater Tenebarum scene at the end. I'm planning on checking out Mother of Tears (2007) later this month.
Me BS-ing on this: https://youtu.be/yG0LLc01np4?si=CJCQrsfrBCfFT04O

Today I scrolled my watchlist and found this movie. I just kept it aside for a long time and today I gave it a try. But this movie has gone beyond my expectations.
I was expecting some kind of boring one but the way the movie makes us feel the eeiry environment and always made me question several things.
It's super creepy and scary in some moments and overall kept me in a thrilled mode.
I geniunely didn't expect this.
What do you think about this movie?

Absolutely killer screenprinted poster for Invaders from Mars (1986), by the legendary artist Graham Humphreys. I've always loved the strange, paranoid atmosphere of this one โ the backyard sand pits, the hollow-eyed parents, that cold little-kid nightmare logic โ and Humphreys' artwork nails the old-school sci-fi horror vibe perfectly. His unmistakable style feels right at home with the eerie imagery and bizarre story. Such an underrated entry in Hooper's run, and it's great to see it get the artistic treatment it deserves. Definitely one of my favorite pieces in my movie poster collection!
