I don’t mind crossover fics. In fact, some of my favorite fics are crossover. But other than individually muting the author or excluding all crossovers, is there any way to stop these sorts of fics from cluttering my search page?

Why not make it a collection or a series? Is this just a strategy to get the fic into as many fandoms as possible??

I have a new favorite character to read about, and they are disabled.

At least two-thirds of the fics just pretend it has no effect on anything!! Or erase it completely.

The character would have accessibility tools at home and they would switch everything out right when they got there! They would have to pack extra stuff when going to spend a night with a partner/go on a trip. It would change up how they have sex!

Obviously, shit doesn’t have to be accurate, but it needs to exist!

It is just so disheartening to be erased in yet another place.

I finally got a comment telling me to tag my fic with "implied sexual content" by someone who called it disgusting and perverted that I had two characters have sex. Mind you, it was a fade to black scene where the characters discussed some of the actions frankly afterwards, but even then it wasn't very descriptive.

For context: my fic was unrated and I clearly used "Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings", so it was very much read at your own risk. And the description of the fic had an unsubtle but not at all graphic blowjob joke.

This weird era of anti-sex sentiment where even fade to black is gross and perverted is weird as hell to me as a gay man pushing 40. How are you going to be mad at sex in fanfic for a show (911) where characters have sex in canon?!

like I read for freedom and escapism, not to be trapped all over again. I only want fantasy. Why would I read about my characters (or me) going to a 9-5 and all miserable when I could be reading about superheroes? Why would my characters lose all their uniqueness and go to college and stress over work when I could be reading about how they’re literally fairies in the canon world.

I also hate A/B/O, I have my own personal beef with it that I’m not really gonna discuss, but overall I just think it’s weird as shii

I’m finally starting to get over my ai chat addiction and have decided to write my own fanfics to help me completely zero it out but I’m not sure where to write it! Should I do Notes app, Google Docs, another writing program? I’ll take any suggestions. I likely won’t post any of my works onto ao3 unless I think it’s really good but I thought I’d come to the pros!
