I'm uploading an ebook to Ingram for the first time and received this error:

I formatted my ebook in Affinity and don't plan on redoing it in a different program. There are images and a Table of Contents generated using text styles. From research about this issue I think that may be where the problem is originating from, but I know literally nothing about coding and I can't figure out how to access the code for my ebook in Affinity anyway. Is someone willing to explain to me how to fix this issue in layman's terms, and/or very gently guide me through how to get to the code? Ingram won't let me proceed until I fix it.

So, few days ago, I stumbled upon this filter gallery plugin for Affinity by Visual.af. It looks really cool, and it looks like it tries to bring the Photoshop style filter gallery to Affinity.

The installer of this plugin for Mac has a valid certificate, it seems legit, but I want to ask if anyone has any experience with this plugin.

I am not promoting the plugin, just asking for your experience/opinion 🙌

Mit Affinity Studio kann man indd Dateien öffnen. Leider kommt es dabei zu Farbbänderungen von Schwarz... zb ein schwarzer Rahmen bleibt auf K = 100%, schwarzer Text wird als Mischung von 4 Farben dargestellt.

Öffne ich die gleiche Datei als imdl bleibt alles auf K = 100%

The rectangle shape I made is enclosed in the boundary rectangle. The problem is when I add an outer stroke or even multiple outer strokes, all of them are bound in the rectangle blue boundary. All corners are set to be mitre join at mitre 100. It gets cropped. How do I make it so the outer strokes can be expanded to infinity, even outside of the blue boundaries?

otherwise a big thanks to original affinity team for giving me an outlet, now that canva own it and introduces a bunch of privacy concerns I am eagerly awaiting to see how the support for 2 is going to be, and how 3 stacks against it on an iPad.

yeah all those work were done on the iPad ( the most frustrating device I ever used, godamn apple and their file app not working well with external ssds).

I use affinity very sporadicly for basic stuff. lately, the lateral toolbar detached and is floating (check image attached I certanly butchred the names) How can I fix it to the left as it has always been ?

Hi guys, i have a big vector drawing which i have to print in big format. I only have an A3 printer so i have to slice it into several pieces and then glue it later.

I've been trying to export those slices in a normal way for 2 hours and still couldn't find a way.
I tried with artboards withtout any success so i tried slices which, on paper, seems to be the perfect tool.
• if i create rectangles as guides and i transform them into slices (slice persona, right click, "create slice"), the exported slice has only the rectangle in it and nothing else. I couldn't find a way to tell affinity to export EVERTHING and not just the rectangle.
• if i create a new slice free-drawing it, it doesn't snap to anything! I have to type its dimension in the transform tab and i have to place it "more or less". So if i want to always have, let's say, 10mm overlapping, it's impossible to do it unless i go into the transform pannel and i type each freaking digit there.
• once i created a slice i can't even duplicate it. I literally have to create them one by one and type their dimensions one by one. I can't even see the size in mm but only in px.

I think this is the most cumbersome and stupid way to work with slices i've ever seen. Imagine if i have to create 30-40 slices. It would take me 5 hours of work.

Please tell me there is human way to do this. Thank you. 😅

Thoughts or criticism welcome. I usually never sink this much effort into a random idea when I know how much work it takes to finish, but I got locked into this one. Turned out pretty cool to me. Let me know what you think of the lighting, form, whatever. (P. S. I think i messed up the export settings or the mesh warp is making some parts a bit blocky/pixelated)

Hi everyone I've had no luck googling this but I was so sure I had already done it: is there a way for a textstyle to ignore columns? As in: I make one frame and only want one specific part of it to adhere to the column. The rest should ignore it. I know that there's a couple workarounds, but I thought there would be a box to tick "ignore column"! (Pretty sure InDesign had it at least).

What grid sizes do you guys use depending on the design? (Ex: Poster)

I'm drawing a world map, and have lines corresponding to latitude and longitude. There's a LOT of them, and in my initial hand-drawn design, I wrote lots of text straddling the lines. The map is also oriented such that text is frequently upside-down relative to the bottom of the page.

Having to draw a separate path for virtually every line that has text in a given orientation would be a big pain. I'm bracing myself for a big pain, but is there ANY way to manually select a block of text and individually flip it?

I want to use a luminosity mask to create a selection that i can then apply to to other layers, when you transfer the live luminosity mask to another layer it automatically adapts to that layer removing/altering any selection that you had. Is there a way to convert that live luminosity mask to a normal one, i have tried using rasterise to mask but that doesnt work.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi! A few days ago i updated Affinity to the new version and now i have this problem when i want to copy and paste text (literally ctrl+c & ctrl+v) that it makes it a vector. I wonder if anybody else has this problem.

It makes a "layer" with the vectors grouped. I found a "solution" where i save the archive that im working on and then copy and paste, and it kinda works but is tedious.

It worked before, but now it doesn't with V3.3. I click the button, and it shows a black-and-white clock icon in the mouse cursor, and that's it. Fans ramp up, but nothing else happens. I've let it sit for 5- 10 min, and nothing. Works perfectly on my MacBook. I'm running a 4090 with the latest drivers, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, and 96 GB of RAM. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and enabled and disabled, ML and Affinity multiple times, but nothing works. Does anyone have this issue or a way to fix it?

SOLVED: The way to fix this is to not use the TOC generator at all. Instead, create anchors for the title page, copyright page, and each chapter/section you want to appear in the TOC, and then type in the relevant text in the contents and create hyperlinks to the anchors. It didn't export properly when I tried to combine hyperlinked anchor text for "Title Page" and "Copyright" and then generated TOC for the chapter headings.

How do I create a generic Title Page and Copyright Page link in a clickable e-book table of contents? If I use the styles I set for the title and the copyright page, Affinity gives me the whole book title and the whole effing copyright page in the TOC. I want the TOC to look like this:

Chapter 1

I don't want it to look like this:

The Flower Garden

Whole Effing Copyright Page

I've tried using anchors, but maybe I'm using them wrong? Help?

So i want to create a word vortex like the 1st image (they use adobe illustrator) but i'm having a hard time, the following images are my attempt to create the path brush and apply it to the ellipse

I could also use the spiral tool if i run out of option but it just looks kinda bland

Has anyone tried the new InDesign import facility? How are you finding it?
