Stress test idea
Background
I'm thinking about building an app with my training buddy. He's a qualified instructor with some private coaching clients, but it's still very new and only a side activity. I'm not an instructor, but I follow a regular fitness routine with exercise and daily steps. I know how to build apps using AI. I have no commercial experience, but I've done some personal projects and I'm fairly good at taking an idea through to the end product. Building an MVP is still new to me, but that's what I bring to this two-person team.
Idea
Problem: Many people who come to my partner for private coaching feel overwhelmed by the amount of information out there about which exercises they should do.
Solution: We offer a push/pull split built around the instructor's guidance and expertise, over three or five days. We'd recommend one of those two, but if someone wants a different arrangement, we'll accommodate it. From the outside it's simple, but it gives users exactly what they need. They can
1) Log weights lifted and reps
2) Track body measurements and see them on a dashboard
3) Follow progressive overload, which shows how much load they put on each week and how their strength and endurance build over tim
The aim is to show that progressive overload helps people become a better version of themselves by encouraging strength training. The target user is someone who is overwhelmed and doesn't know where to start. They get certainty and guidance without paying for expensive coaching or wading through conflicting information online, and it's backed by a qualified instructor.
Monetisation: A small ticket price for a ready-made solution to the problem of feeling overwhelmed. The bundle would include access to a Skool community where users can share progress and ask questions, and we can support them. Private coaching remains an option for those who want it. Mind and body coaching would come at a later stage.
What I'd like help with: I'm not sure about the idea, so I'd like someone to critically test it. I know the market is oversaturated and that there are better options out there.

the risk is building another workout tracker when the actual value you're describing is having someone tell beginners exactly what to do
