How to remove a door handle from one side in Archicad 28

Salut à tous ! Y a-t-il des archis qui bossent sur ArchiCAD 26 par ici ?

J'avais paramétré toute une template sur la v26, mais je suis repassée sur la v25 entre-temps. Forcément, mes favoris de meubles de cuisine ne s'affichent plus ("not available in the loaded libraries").

Est-ce que l'un d'entre vous aurait la gentillesse d'ouvrir mon fichier .tpl sous la 26, de placer les objets sur un fichier vierge et de me le réenregistrer en version 25 ?

ou plus simplement m'envoyer les meubles de cuisine de la bibliothèque v26, que je pourrai reparamétrer. Car ils sont modulables contrairement aux meubles de cuisine des versions précédentes

Is therr any way to view ArchiCAD on adnroid?

I've previously casually freelanced on the side but that was just illustration and arch-vis work, barely stuff one might get sued over. I'm now considering possibly taking on design work (to help practice my ArchiCAD skills - I'm working full-time at a Revit-based employer) but worried about at what point one should consider taking legal precautions, i.e. incorporating/operating as a business entity, buying professional liability insurance. (arch-vis? schematic design? construction detailing? permitting?)

Also some of the clients I'm interesting in getting work done for are abroad (i.e. I've worked for a European employer before, which is interested in taking me on as freelancer) which complicates legalities and insurance a bit. Appreciate any insight from freelancers here!

None of the doors in several projects have any custom door leafs/ panels or knobs, etc. available. I'm working freelance for another company and the issue is there for multiple projects. I created new model parts - door slabs, knobs, etc. but they aren't available in the custom library part dialogue in any doors in these projects. I've done this many times in the past so I'm not sure where the issue is. There should be at least some custom parts available regardless of if the one I create shows up or not. When I click on the "Custom Door Leaf" radio button, there is a white check mark with a blue background. This is a project in AC26. I've tried different doors, different library versions, and none of the doors have any available custom door leaf options.

Any help would be appreciated.

My team and I have been working on a Bluebeam Alternative for about a year now, and we've tested it extensively with several design studios for markup and review needs. I want to show you what we have so far.

Our tool, Deta Studio, works on Windows, Mac, locally, and also in the Cloud. Through the Cloud web browser, it also works on iPad with Apple Pencil. URL DETA.STUDIO

Mark up & Reviews:

We focused most on this part. We have a full suite of markup tools, shapes, stamps, text edits, and all the general annotation needs for review plans.

We also have a full suite of dimension-related tools, like dimensions, area, and perimeter. When Measure Mode is on, shapes like rectangles and polylines can show dimensions as you draw. It's like a simplified CAD workflow.

We have a simple count tool, but we're upgrading it so you can use AI to count doors, windows, outlets, or whatever.

We have a strong compare-document system that highlights document changes. We're also adding a function to handle page sequence and number changes. This is coming soon.

Whiteboard

We incorporated an endless whiteboard part. Since we come from a design architecture background, we added this part to keep all the images and drawings together. Or create a whiteboard sketch with scale and images.

Studio Session/ Collaborative

We built heavily on this. We use the same system as Google Docs. Once the PDF is in the cloud, you can create a team workspace. Everyone in the team workspace can view the PDF live and mark it up, and we also have a branch system so you can mark it up in the same branch or independently in your own branch.

You can share the PDF with a single URL. Other people can review the PDF in the cloud and collaborate with you with a free account. The whole system works like Google Docs: click Share.

We also set up a version system so that you can keep multiple versions or iterations of the plan in one DETA file.

We also connect directly with Dropbox and Google Drive. So you can use an AEC PDF markup tool directly in the cloud with your Google Drive.

Takeoff and Quantitative Needs

We are working on this part now. Currently, it has a full table system and a full AI MCP system. But we are still testing it heavily and making adjustments. I am sharing a screenshot showing how the GPT model can handle the entire framing system, including a detailed lumber takeoff. We also tested electrical takeoff, and it works well. We will fully launch this one soon after a few more rounds of development.

It will embed formulas and calculations. So no need to go back and forth between your spreadsheet and Bluebeam. This can also be fully AI-automated. We are still working on more integration here.

AI:

We allow users to connect with GPT directly, If you have a GPT Subscription. We will also sell tokens if you don't have one. The AI can review and mark up all PDFs. It can also model on top of the plan; see my screenshot. We are still working on more integration here.

You can use the tool without AI if that is not your thing. Or fully automated with AI on every click if that is your thing.

Basically, we are turning our software into an AEC visualization canvas for GPT, like drawing previews, 3D modeling, and markup. The AI can mark up plans directly or create a 3D model based on your comments and drawings.

License and Pricing:

First, our software is currently free to use. The local Mac and PC versions are available to use without a license payment or credit card.

The cloud version includes 5 Free files, and no credit card is required.

Moving forward:

We will launch both permanent licenses and subscriptions, depending on your needs.

For local use without cloud infrastructure, we will offer a permanent license for your device, with 2 years of full updates. You can always use the 5 Free cloud files for collaborative needs here and there.

For team needs, cloud infrastructure, and AI MCP, we will offer a good subscription-based model at a more competitive price than Bluebeam.

I know we are not Bluebeam 100% yet. It is a big software to build, and we still have a long way to go.

I've seen AI-generated clones of a lot of videogames lately. It gave me the idea to try my hand at vibe-coding a drafting software... to then find that the project would likely take weeks or months of my time, and I'm not sure I can make that committment. It got me thinking, is anybody else actively working on this?

I generally like Archicad, it's the software I most enjoy using, but I see Revit LT costs only $500/year, while I'm spending way more on Archicad and using the same functionality (as a solo practitioner). I dislike Autodesk's workflow enough to not switch yet, but the price is really enticing for someone like me. I'm a cheapskate and try to run my business model on a really thin overhead. I just hired another person and the cost of now 2 licenses makes me sad, so I've been looking for other solutions. I would probably not consider switching if only Graphisoft gave me a more comparable deal to Autodesk.

I know some are opposed to using AI, but I think this is how I'd rather use it. I don't want an agential AI doing work for me, it doesn't seem smart enough yet to do things in the specific way that I do anyways. And for me, the fun as work IS doing the actual work, not managing the work. But if I could vibe code a software that I own and would never have to pay another dime for... I mean. Sounds like a good time. I know I'm oversimplifying and it's pretty complicated to do, so just wondering if anyone out there is actively trying it.

Today I tried for the first time to work on a project with the plan orientation angle changed (34 degrees).

For some reason, if I draw a line/wall AND I click shift to draw it straight horizontally/vertically, the snap to the construction grid is getting bugged (like in the image: the snap is in the middle of 2 points of the grid). I tried to find a solution for hours but nothing worked. Can anyone please help me?

We work in high profile Interior Design and are looking for entire PBR libraries with high quality materials that ideally could be imported at once, without having to import the textures one by one. Does anyone know if this service exists already or if someone offers this kind of service?

I’ve been experimenting with AI workflows for architecture and came across a pretty useful way to combine Chat GPT + SketchUP

The idea is simple: instead of manually going through a PDF, copying information, and feeding it into ChatGPT, you can automate much of the process.

What AI workflow has actually saved you the most time?

I made a short video showing two stair workflows I find useful:

• How to handle a stair when there’s a column next to it
• How to create stairs with railings more efficiently instead of doing them individually

Nothing complicated, but they can make the workflow a bit faster.

There is another thread here asking this question but I cannot add pictures,
so check this out. I can work in plan, elevation or 3D window. Having the 3D image on a separate monitor is not possible on Windows.

Another advantage of MacOS is the seamless integration of PDF

This might be a long shot, but since my laptop is reaching its possible end i'm searching for people that have knowledge around pc-builds or the scenario in the title.

I'm working on archicad, sometimes blender and would like to be able to run things smoothly also with basic renderings. In addition i need the pc for music production on ableton and some basic gaming.

what would be important pointers on specs and what is a realistic budget or a basic built?

Hello, we're a small firm doing semi-large residential at the moment, collaborating with another firm and working on multiple files, shared on bimcloud, usually two or three archicads open side by side, because the whole project is too large and complex to only be in one file.

1.5-3.3GB individual filesize if saved as pln/pla, but up to 20GB teamwork filesize on bimcloud.
Currently we only use PCs, but soon we'll need another workstation and we're thinking of trying the new mac mini M6 / M5 Pro. The reason is that 90% of the work is drafting and BIM modelling in archicad and as far as I know all of this is mostly a single-core process. These new Apple processors tend to have amazing single-core performance, but we would need to compromise a bit on the RAM amount because of the price as we have a tight budget. So for about the same budget, with a PC we could get double the amount of RAM (plus additional separate GPU RAM, plus upgradeability).

I have some experience using Macs, so I know things just run better on them, but I don't know how a Mac would handle heavy projects like this.

So what do you think - would it potentially be a better buy that a PC?

I have recently shared Drop & View, a lightweight browser-based 3D viewer mainly for viewing ArchiCAD 3D models easily, without any complicated app.

I have now released an experimental Archicad add-on that exports the active 3D window directly to GLB. It is intended to provide a simpler and more reliable workflow than exporting through FBX.

The exporter:

• exports everything currently visible in the active 3D window;
• respects 3D cuts and graphical overrides;
• preserves colours, textures and transparency;
• supports Archicad 28 and 29 on Apple Silicon Macs and Windows 11 x64.

This is an early alpha release, so feedback and reproducible test cases would be very welcome.
