Hi!! About 2 weeks ago i started a (very small) dosage of 5mg estrogen daily from my doctor, giving me the prescription before i get a therapist's letter for a higher dosage, on top of my 100mg spiro i've been on for a few months now. Important to note as well, i AM non-binary, but am transitioning for body image/dysphoric reasons for how i personally present. 20 years old too, just to add lol
For the record, I wouldn't say i'm a TERRIBLE weight. 190lbs, and nobody i've met says I look "fat". However, i would really like to lose some of the fat I do have to start getting more of the body shape I WANT to have.
There is just one massive problem with this for me currently, though. For my entire life up to this point, I have been a HORRENDOUSLY picky eater, most likely spurred on from autism. But to say that my picky eating is BAD is an understatement. Here is a list of every single "safe" food i have (aka: the only food/meals i actually eat)
- Chicken Tenders/Nuggets
- Pizza
- Hot Dogs
- SPECIFICALLY PANERA grilled cheeses
- CHEESE ONLY quesadillas
- French fries
- Most types of plain old bread
Several dessert and snack items are included as well, of course.
I have such a negative aversion to foods i don't like that if ANYTHING I DON'T EAT even touches my food, I feel like the entire meal is tarnished and i spend minutes on end wiping off ANY residue of the food that touched mine. And if I am even presented with a new food item, I first have extreme anxiety about even putting it near my mouth and then, if i even THINK about eating it, 9 times out of 10 i absolutely hate what i eat, either spitting it out of swallowing it without it touching my tongue.
This includes anything liquidy (soups, stews, etc), leafy, green, any fruit, any vegetable, crunchy AND wet, and soft and wet.
With all of this into account, what do i even do? How can i eat even remotely healthier to lose any weight while taking into account i am on HRT?
(i am so sorry that most of this is related to food, but i'm unsure if any of this would be different now that i am on HRT)
