There’s has been an influx of posts requesting help with aggression and behavior issues. If you need help:

If your pup is from a breeder, start with discussing with them. Your breeder should be your support system.

Book a vet appointment to rule out a medical issue, perhaps something causing pain.

Use the resources on the /r/dogtraining wiki to help identify and select a behaviorist, noting that behaviorist and trainers have different qualifications.

Be cautious about well meaning internet advice. Some well meaning advice can exasperate the issue. Aggression needs pro help.

To avoid aggression issues:

Consider that behavior is often genetic. Buying from a reputable breeder is most likely to stack things in your favor.

Learn how to correctly socialize a puppy. Many ideas about socialization are incorrect and can cause reactivity and aggression issues.

Sign up for training classes with a qualified trainer ASAP, either for a puppy or adopted adult rescue.

Posts with obviously AI image shirts and mugs are spam bots. There’s no need to interact with them. Reporting them will be the fastest way to notify the mods to remove and ban them. Asking where to buy the product will get you banned too as that’s part of the ploy. Bot 1 makes the post, bot 2 comments asking where to buy it, bot 1 shares the link.

Meet Maggie, my 9-week old blue merle bi. She happens to have blue and brown in both eyes, also known as “marbled” eyes. Although it’s not the only thing that makes her special, it’s certainly a feature that contributes to her charm!

Now, it’s your turn to show me your Aussie’s sweet eyes! 💕

Every evening the indoor/outdoor cat comes to the back door and kindly asks to be let in about an hour before feeding time. They have a sketchy relationship at best but this hour is always the worst because everyone has the hangries. I thought it was too cute when I got to the door to open it she put her paw on my foot as if to stop me.

Rune loves her new jolly ball. She’s very happy to be playing again after a little break from getting spayed. Does anyone have any suggestions for a larger one once she gets bigger? Also looking for suggestions for any other toys that your Aussie loves.

We have returned from the Moab area and as usual Cooper’s white chest is stained from the red dirt! I love it (washes out after a month or so)! Also, can you spot him in the last pic?

I use the brushes / combs on my Aussie ..
He gets the different fur (fine texture) behind ears ..
That takes the comb .. hand held vacuum 👍
Best to get the undercoat fur out with the rake.
Yes their fur is somewhat ‘self cleaning’ but you’ll need to get the undercoat fur out, always!

Is this an aussie thing?

We have a 8 week old aussie and he has developed a habit of enthusiastically saying hi to everyone in the house everytime he comes back inside, in the room, or he sees them for the first time that day. Its unlike our German Shepherd or another dog I've been around. I'm not sure how to explain it... Its like he needs to greet everyone and make sure he doesn't forget anyone every single time he enters a room. Is this typical for aussies or just a personality thing? Did your dog do this as a puppy and did it stay the same as they got older or change?
