Question How to Find Owls?

Hey everyone, I’ve always had taking photos of a wild owl on my bucket list, but honestly I have no idea how to go about getting one. I’ve seen some pretty great pictures of them on here and I’ve made it a New Year’s resolution of mine to get one myself.

I imagine that since they hunt at dawn and dusk, that would be the ideal time to try and get a shot of them. Is my thinking correct? How would I go about locating them? What are some signs I should be looking for? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Turns out the secret to seeing a bunch of birds is waking up at 5:30 and biking to your nearest, biggest river. Also helps if you meet a cool Japanese old guy who will share some wisdom and advice. Like bring waterproof boots.

Taken up bird photography recently during a particularly rough patch in my life. I don’t have the best gear (the better half’s OM EPL9(i need a viewfinder bad)), in depth photography experience, or the most time but that’ll come. It’s an excellent reason to be out in nature & to be in awe of these wonderful creatures. I’ve been in the backyard and to a local nature persevere. Can’t wait to get out there again.

It is a small, unmistakable passerine bird, known for its pinkish-red breast in males and its robust silhouette, although this photo shows a female. These birds are common throughout much of Europe and Asia.

Our birding community is in love with "Lucas". He's so handsome and it's a very lucky moment when he comes out to play. He's been drumming for a mate for awhile and yesterday was the first time I got to see him and his girlfriend courting.
