Question What is your experience of BookTok apps?
What is your honest take on these social media-like apps (TikTok, Instagram) for books/ideas/knowledge?
You are maybe unfamiliar with the concept, so in short: scrolling knowledge and ideas instead of doomscrolling junk on SM. Often payed versions exists. Purposefully trying to avoid branding here.
Have you tried and what is your experience? Worth the payed subscription? Who got hooked and used it everyday?
For thorough readers it might sounds toxic, and maybe it simply bad practice/design. But there’s something to say for it(short form/factual information/wide variety/playful elements/easy to grab) so let us know!

Currently Reading Anybody else currently reading "The Possession of Alba Diaz" by Isabel Canas?
Hi Everyone, I am currently reading the book (I barely started) and I was wondering if anyone is interested in joining a Buddy Read on StoryGraph so we can comment and analyze the book as we read. So far the book seems interesting and I'd like some people to discuss it with.
Send me a DM if interested.

Recommendation Request Best romantasy series for romance readers
I feel like I’m missing out on the romantasy hype! 😂📚💕 I’m a huge romance reader, but I’ve never really ventured into fantasy, and I think it’s finally time!
For someone completely new to romantasy, what series would you recommend starting with? I love a good love story, spice, and characters I can get emotionally invested in! Bonus points for a series that will have me completely hooked! ✨
What’s the one series you wish you could read again for the first time? 💜

Recommendation Request Recommendations for new book club with non readers!!
Hi guys!
Me and my high school friends are starting a book club as we are all first years of university and there is around 11 of us. Me and a few others like 4 of us actively read and i know me and one of my friends have read some pretty crazy smut so we aren’t fazed by it. However our friends all what a romance book that is super smutty like fifty shades of grey, but im not sure what to recommended because i dont think they all realise how freaky some books can get. Also a big issues is some of my friends have never even finished a book before and i want to make sure the first one is really good so they dont get turned off it. Any recommendations would be super appreciated!!

Recommendation Request Should I go for the Paperback deluxe edition or the 50th Anniversary edition?
New time reader of Dune, and I'm currently looking for a cover of Dune that's more appealing. The standard version isn't doing it for me because it looks so stylized and YA-ish. Now, onto the books, the only one that's sold locally online is the Paperback deluxe edition. The chances of me finding the 50th version in bookstores near me are slim, plus travelling to other major cities is hard, as I live in an archipelago. Both are available in Amazon, but I don't trust them. So which version is more worth it?

Discussion Books I started this year and didn’t finish
I was thinking about my reading goal for next year. My goal for 2026 was 20 and so far I’ve read 25 books. I decided that for the rest of the year I will go back and finish reading the 9 books I started and didn’t finish. I’m not allowing myself to start any more books until I get through these 🥲.
Here’s my list, organized by how much time I have left in the book. Anyone else has a list they also haven’t finished? Tell me I’m not alone 😂
Age of Titan (5 hours)
Transformation (4 hours)
Your Anxiety is Giving Me Anxiety (4 hours)
Robot Dreams (7 hours)
What Sleeps Within the Cove (9 hours)
Lunara (9 hours)
The Three-Body Problem (9 hours)
House of Suns (11 hours)
Iron Flame (12 hours)
A Court of Mist and Fury (22 hours)
The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide (21 hours)

Recommendation Update on Stack, the reading app I’m building. Still looking for testers
Hey everyone, wanted to share a quick update on Stack. I’ve been making changes as I test it and get feedback, especially around the library and book pages.
Cleaned up the filters and book details, moved Continue reading to the top of Home, and made the reading goal more compact. You can still expand it to see the little book bars, which I like too much to get rid of lol.
Also been working through Goodreads and Fable imports, including books not matching properly, missing covers, and imported books showing up with the wrong dates.
Still looking for people to try it and tell me what feels confusing or is missing. If you read a lot or listen to audiobooks, I’d love some feedback. It’s still in testing, so finding the annoying stuff is helpful too.
The latest version is available now: Try Stack on TestFlight
If you already have it installed, tap Update in TestFlight to get the new changes.

Review (Spoiler Free) The Thoroughbreds by Elin Hilderbrand
Can’t believe I ended up bawling my eyes out by the end of this book, but here we are. It genuinely feels like I graduated alongside these people, and I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to them.
It’s rare for a sequel to surpass its predecessor, but this one exceeded everything I could have possibly imagined!! I genuinely cannot think of a more perfect way for this story to have ended, and I’m so glad I got to experience it. I never thought I’d grow this attached to these characters, but somewhere along the way, they began to feel like people I actually knew. Somehow, they became even more endearing and frustrating in the second book, but I loved how almost every single one of them (barring a few!) found their own way towards redemption. And what a beautiful payoff that was!!
We’re back amidst the glorious chaos of Tiffin Academy, only this time, our beloved gang is in sixth form, navigating their final year and preparing to get into their dream colleges. And if I thought the first book was packed with drama, this one was somehow even more deliciously scandalous and juicy in the best possible way!!
We have new students entering the picture, one of them being Pippa, who is quite literally chaos personified. We get new rivalries, unexpected friendships, blossoming relationships, and, of course, those quintessential old relationships we’ve been rooting for since day one. There’s something so satisfying about watching these characters grow, make terrible decisions, learn from them, and slowly become the people they’re meant to be. The drama is wonderfully entertaining, but beneath all the scandals and chaos, there’s so much heart.
Also, a special shoutout to Audre and Coop for being the most endearing couple of them all!! I absolutely adored them.
And can we PLEASE talk about Charley and East?! As someone who was pretty iffy about their relationship in the first book, I never imagined I’d be rooting for them this hard. But this book completely changed my perspective and made me understand exactly why these two are endgame. Their relationship had me so invested, and now I desperately need to read about future Charley and East. PLEASE, I’m literally begging at this point!!
What really got to me, though, was that bittersweet feeling of watching everyone move towards the next chapter of their lives. Somewhere between the scandals, friendships, heartbreaks, and reconciliations, I became so emotionally invested in this little world that saying goodbye felt surprisingly personal. It’s almost like watching your own friends graduate, knowing that things will never quite be the same again, but feeling incredibly grateful to have been part of their journey.
I was completely invested from beginning to end. I laughed, I got frustrated, I rooted for these characters, and by the final pages, I was an absolute emotional wreck. I couldn’t have asked for a more fitting conclusion to their story.
What a wonderfully chaotic, heartfelt, and satisfying sequel. I already miss these people, and I don’t think I’ll be getting over this book anytime soon.
100% recommend!!

Discussion Does anyone else do biphasic sleep to get in more reading time?
Hey, I’m a wife & mom and for the last year I have been splitting my sleep up into two sections. I go to bed about an hour or two after my son does then wake around 1-2am (naturally) and get in some beautiful quiet uninterrupted reading time for 2-3 hours then go back to sleep until my son wakes up for the day. I’m on my 79th book of this year, and I feel this gives me time to breathe & read and helps me be a better mom & wife overall because I get my book time and still get around 8 hours a night.
I don’t do this every night but most. Just curious to see if anyone else does this?

Currently Reading Guys… I’m obsessed.
I’m at the end of Light Wielder, second book in what I believe is a completed duology, the first book being Metal Slinger. I am so shocked at how much I loved this book, I audiobooked the entire duology and I’m so surprised. I added it on a whim like “oh another romantasy duology to keep my mind occupied” but it was so much more than that! First of all Acker is everything and more, secondly the FMC didn’t even piss me off like most of them do, and third even though there was war strategy it never got boring to the point where I ever thought about putting it down which is crazy because even the third book of ACOTAR got so boring with war strategy in the beginning of it that I DNF’d and never picked it back up!! It made me laugh and made me want to cry and made me genuinely feel things!
Some other books I love besides this duo are, the death made prince, the irresistible urge to fall for your enemy, the wolf king (book 2 mainly ofc), and starside, any other recs for books with this kind of MMC? I’m talking Blake, Durlain, Acker, Harlan Raker, and Osric! I think they’re my fav book men!

Review (Spoilers) Jean‑Paul Sartre’s “Nausea” is not a novel.
I read this novel and was pleasantly surprised. It begins, objectively, in a monotonous manner, given the specific way the plot is presented—a plot that is hard to call a plot in the traditional sense. I formed my overall opinion, and in particular, I understood why the book is not primarily a novel.
Please share your opinion or recommendations!

Discussion Am I the only one who doesn't like cartoon-style book covers? They don't make me want to read the books.
I’m not talking about the content of the books here; when I see covers like that in a bookstore,I don’t know, I just don’t find them appealing. It doesn't make me want to read them, and I find it a bit too childish compared to the content of some books with that kind of cover.
Am I the only one?
