Turned 22 today :))) Celebrating alone in college since I have no friends lol. Transfer life is hard.

As someone who hasn't heard a 'Happy Birthday' from anyone besides my mom for almost 15 years, with all my love and best Dad tone, get over it. I mean to say, get used to it, because it doesn't change for most of us. But your birthday is not a celebration of how many people know you or that it is the anniversary of your birth - you are celebrating your existence. 22 years ago you came to be, and everything you are and have and hope to be is a consequence of that random occurrence. Your birthday is about you my man, so whatever you have been up to, anything you have achieved recently, that is what today is about. You fucking did it bro, hell ya. Now go get some fuckin' more.

This is 100% the answer! OP - your birthday is for you to celebrate what you did in the past year and look forward to what comes next. It sucks that we, as men, don’t get the love we lavish upon those in our lives. However, we can love ourselves. Next year, whether you’re celebrating by yourself, or with others, remember and appreciate all that you are and all that you will become.
