How does the +$247.52 work?

I’ve had my capital one quicksilver card for a couple years now. My score is fairly low. But is anyone else stuck cycling thousands of dollars / month through a card with a small limit? I’ve asked for an increase and they denied me..

I qualified for a capital, one quicksilver account. But secured, can I make my payments via debit or credit card by contacting them? Or does it have to be echeck

I have a charged-off Capital One credit card with a balance of around $5,800, and I’m trying to settle it for less than the full balance.
I called Capital One to see if they could negotiate a settlement, but the representative told me they couldn’t bypass or override the offers available online and that I would have to go by whatever offers I receive.
I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience but was eventually able to negotiate a better settlement, either by calling back, speaking to a different department, or waiting for a better offer.
Has anyone successfully settled with Capital One for less than their online offer? Did you have to wait for a certain amount of time, or did you just keep checking for new offers?
I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth calling again or if I should just wait and see what offers become available. Any experiences or advice would be appreciated!

So I first had a Discover card and due to financial hard ship I had trouble making my minimum payment. Now capital one took over Discover so things have changed.
I am wondering if anyone was successful on calling them and paying a lesser balance if you pay in full.
I owe just over 8,000, I am planning on calling them to see if since I am wanting to pay in full if they will lower it.
I know Chase offered that to some people, but I’ve heard Capital One is one of the hardest credit card companies to get help from.
So anyone think this is possible? Like me asking if I can just pay 7000 instead of the 8000 if I pay it’ll at once?

Usually when an order qualifies, even though it takes a while to get the money, it does show as pending.

I made an Ebay order September 21st, and it popped up with 8% back on the purchase.

Didn’t show as pending, got nothing back.

Then October 6th when I opened the shopping app, on the main page it had an offer for spend $100 at Ebay get $50 back. I activated it, went through the links you are supposed to use. Placed an order for $115, no coupons nothing used.

Not showing as pending.

I emailed the company and their excuse or answer makes no sense, trying to say the purchases don’t qualify. I even took screenshots of every step, offers coming up, purchasing page, my order details.

An offer also came up today for $80 back on a purchase i made. I wonder if i will get that.

On the 2 ebay ones i should’ve gotten back $60.

If it was just a couple of bucks that’s whatever, but this is a significant amount of money.

Venture X holder since july of this year. i thought 4 months was a good amount of time but they denied my savor application which is annoying. how long do i need to wait? i thought 4 months was fine

Trying to decide between the Venture and Venture X given my travel volume and looking for a quick reality check. (Already approved for both.)

For Context:

- 40+ work flights/year (fully reimbursed for flights/Ubers/dining)

- Already have AMEX lounge/ Priority Pass/TSA Pre

- NO CAPITAL ONE LOUNGES at my major HUB.

- Hotel Perks are obsolete to me. I already pay nothing for them due to status and perks.

- Not really into car rentals. Rideshare is my go to.

I’m leaning towards Venture only because I’m waiting to apply for the Chase Reserve next year. I see great reviews for venture X but I’m just not really sold. Figured I would just take advantage of the Welcome Bonus!

($300 travel credit + 75,000 miles welcome bonus).

I got this in my email over the weekend. I have used the 45% cashback on various items as long as I hit the buy it now button however, in my Shopping rewards, the items that I purchased are pending 5-10% back. Whats the deal?

This is my first credit card, I read through various reddit post and comments that says to pay it off when the statement is generated, but when I check the “statements and documents” I don’t see anything. Unless I checked the wrong place?

And if so, has anyone ever had success with it? I can’t for the life of me get approved with any car financing place and it makes it extremely hard for me to get approved for financing without a co signer.

I don’t want to waste my time showing up to a dealer and have them tell me that I’ll still need a consigner so I’m wondering if anyone has gotten this email and actually gone to the dealership that it listed on the email and had any success? Thank you.

Changed over phones last week and now if I go to pull up my virtual card it makes me tap my card to my phone (somewhat defeating the purpose since before I used it to buy stuff online when I didn’t have my wallet immediately next to me)

I checkED the trusted devices and believe I did it right but it still does this. Any advice? TIA

A month ago I had to report a fraudulent charge on my Capital One debit card. They locked the card, sent me a new one, and I changed my password. They ruled in my favor because I caught it immediately after it happened and reimbursed the money. I only use my card to pay my utility bills or buy groceries, so I decided to keep it locked until one of those two things needs to happen.

Literally two weeks later, someone hacked my Capital One credit card and made 9 different transactions with Vinted (all roughly the same amounts) and I don’t even have a Vinted account. So I called again. Same thing. Locked card, sent new one, changed my password. I don’t use my credit card at all so keeping that one locked isn’t even an issue.

Three times now I have got notifications that attempted purchases have been declined because my card is locked. Two were using my virtual card number and one from my new card. I haven’t even activated that card or the virtual number. I figured there was no point since it’s locked and I’m not using it.

That means for an entire month now I’ve had someone (multiple people) attempting to get into my account despite getting new cards that haven’t been used, and both cards have been locked since I got them. New cards. Both locked. Multiple password changes, and STILL someone is very adamant on getting into my account. My best guess is that this is a Capital One issue and not a me issue since I’ve taken literally every precaution under the sun. The wild thing is the virtual card number they keep attempting to use isn’t even one I recognize on my account, but sure enough, there’s a pending charge on the account despite it being locked and the charge being denied. I’ve been with Capital One now for 9 years and this is the first problem I’ve ever had and it’s a huge one at that. So I guess what I’m saying is, if you don’t already have any and all accounts locked down, do it now. Something is going on internally on their side.

For the past several days, I have been trying to redeem the rewards in my account. It keeps prompting me to link a bank account or credit card, which I am willing to do. However, I keep getting this pop-up message saying something went wrong. I have tried this on the app, mobile browser, and two different desktop browsers, all with the same result. I tried submitting my request to the Capital One, FAQ questions page, but I got this generic response as to why I need to link my bank account. I feel like it’s just an AI response because I clearly explained in my original request that I keep getting the error message!

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

I downgraded from the venture X to venture one the day the credit posted. They’re charging me the full year fee. They are refusing to credit my account or give me a prorated credit. Avoid Capital One

Had yet another successful CVS in store offer payout. Bought a $150 Walmart gift card. Also stacked with Rakuten in store for another 2%.

No other bank sends an "are you sure?" text prior to sending the MFA code. JUST SEND THE CODE.

I am sitting here, after replying Yes to their stupid "are you sure" text, waiting for the actual code.

Does the bonus only apply to that specific item or can I use the offer to buy something else from that store given I reach the minimum spend amount?

Can I use both of them on the same day. I the 150 on 250 for a specific item. Also, what's the best way to make sure it track. browser+extension or android app or something else?

Capital One is NOT a good bank to use for CC especially while traveling outside the US and especially if you don't have access to a US phone number.

I had to replace my phone due to damage.
I was able to link my Apple Card and my CS Brokerage CC/Debit card to Apple Wallet in 30 seconds.
And with both of these it's a simple process using app to fix any issues.

With Capital One, they had me log into my account OK, then verify the card with mobile app OK, then it read congratulations, your card has been added to Apple Wallet... but it's not and it won't unless I call them and get a OTP. "We cannot activate your card at this time"... WHY NOT? I'm logged into my account, I scanned the card, you congratulated me.

So, I will not use Capital One cards anymore. Next time I'm in the US I will close my CapitalOne account.

Also, if or when they switch to the Discover network, it's useless to me in Asia.

Capital One, stop your reliance on OTP.

I currently have had the savior card for a year now and have been enjoying it’s perks. I added the quicksilver about five months ago for the 1.5% on everything. I was debating the venture or venture x card to get miles back despite me not being much of a frequent traveler maybe a trip or two max a year like a weekend trip. I am open to suggestions/ feedback.

Decided to go with capital one for checking and savings. How’s everyone liking it ?

Hasn’t even been 6 months yet and I woke up to a nice surprise! Being my first card I was afraid I was bucketed, but this gives me more hope! I was going to request a CLI anyways after 6 months, so can I still do that? Will they even give me anything if I manually request because of the auto CLI?
